A wise Spanish proverb says “cada cabeza es un mundo,” which means “every head is a world,”.
We each have our own perspective.

One of the tenets of The Four Agreements is:

DON’T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY.

“Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dreams.” – Don Miguel Ruiz

When someone says or does something negative or hurtful and directs that at you, it is based on their own programming, their own feelings, beliefs, and opinions.

Meditation teaches us to not be dependent on other peoples’ opinions for our own self-worth. We can learn to trust ourselves and only take responsibility for our own actions. We’re no longer harmed by the comments and actions of others.

We can practice this and align our words and deeds with “does it help” or “does it hurt”. It takes practice. I’m practicing with you.

It's not quite as difficult as it may seem. Most people think that continuing to attach means it's not working or they aren't doing it correctly.

The key to success here is knowing it doesn't matter how many times you have to let go. The more you practice letting go the less you will need to because it's happening naturally for you. Detaching from thoughts and emotions that are disruptive is liberating.
