Most injured people are offered FUSION of their cervical discs when they investigate their surgical options. A disc REPLACEMENT is a different option for many people, and it doesn't involve FUSION.
This case is a good example of a person who had a damaged disc that was pushing on their nerves and spinal cord. Less aggressive measures were attempted, but failed.
This disc was REPLACED and the patient went home the same day, fully able to move their neck around as they pleased.

Sometimes you go big, and sometimes you go small. In this case of multiple levels of large traumatic disc tears and herniations...big won out in the end. I utilized minimally invasive techniques all around, both front and back.

While most cases, even high energy traumas, do not come to require extensive reconstruction like this case...there are no interesting x-rays to show you in those cases 😂
