April is Occupational Therapy Month! Occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants help people of all ages develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. Our COTA Brett has been a valuable part of the team since she started working for us in 2022. Learn more about her and her inspiration to become a COTA.
"I am originally from Bloomfield and currently still live in Davis County with my husband, Jaydan, and our dog. I graduated from Davis County High School in 2020 and completed the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Indian Hills in 2022. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family and golfing. I am both an occupational therapy assistant and a physical therapy assistant.
I was inspired to become a COTA after seeing firsthand how occupational therapy helps individuals regain their independence following an accident, injury, or medical event. One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is watching people achieve that independence again. I also especially enjoy working with children, helping them improve sensory regulation, fine motor skills, and developmental delays. Being part of their growth and progress is incredibly fulfilling. Another thing I love about this field is the variety—no two days are ever exactly the same. I am passionate about helping individuals of all ages build confidence, improve daily function, and live more independent, fulfilling lives."
KPTS is proud to offer comprehensive occupational therapy services to Davis County and surrounding areas.
