The Barn stands as a beacon of light offering sacred healing sessions and space for healers to help nourish and nurture people during these dark and uncertain times. The Body Art Barn is the result of owner and creator Michelle Dawson’s deep exploration and articulation of the ancient Vedic Arts. Fifteen years of traveling as a working artist landed her on the black dirt in Chester, New York in September of 2011. It was here that she planted herself almost permanently. Her little studio was the first studio in Orange County to offer Aerial Yoga. The art-form and her articulation was so well received, she outgrew her sweet little space and became part of the epic renovation of the 200 year old Sears Barn on route 94 in Blooming Grove, New York. Since her opening there in 2014, she has singlehandedly refurbished 4000 square feet of the Barn to create a Holy, healing temple. Offering Yoga classes, Aerial Yoga classes, and Pole Dancing, the myriad of services offered at The Body Art Barn are down to Earth, highly accessible, affordable, and really fun! You have to see it to believe it. This space is something very special. As a multifaceted facility, The Body Art Barn is now a Healing Cooperative that hosts space for healing and training sessions.

The Body Art Barn is Hudson Valley’s Sacred Barn Temple located in Blooming Grove, NY. A Yoga studio housed by the antiquity of a 200 year old barn, Michelle Dawson’s Aerial Yoga studio is a destination space even if Yoga is not your thing. Michelle, born and raised in Blooming Grove, lovingly hand crafted 4000 square feet of the old Sears Barn located on route 94 between Chester and Washingtonville. Utilizing found materials and the altruistic assistance of devoted Yogis, The Body Art Barn is a stunning example of resourceful creativity born from Michelle’s sincere desire to share her love of Yoga and Philosophy with all people, everywhere.

Offering classes in Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Pole Dancing, and Circus School for kids, The Body Art Barn welcomes all levels of movement and curiosity. Private parties, birthdays for kids, space rental for events large or small, the space is versatile, whimsical, and really freaking special.
