We love the “good” parts of ourselves.

The disciplined one.
The put-together one.
The one everyone praises.

But the parts we avoid?
The messy ones.
The reactive ones.
The ones that don’t fit the image?

Those don’t disappear.

They just go underground.

And that’s where we stay stuck.

Integration is not choosing one version of yourself.

It’s learning how to hold both.

Not just Glinda…
but Elphaba too.

Your Light
And Your Shadow

Because real growth happens
when you stop trying to be one or the other
and start accepting all of you.

This used to terrify me.

Not all discomfort is the same.

Some of it is fear you’re meant to move through.
Some of it is misalignment you’re meant to move away from.

The work is learning the difference.

Your life is waiting on the other side of fear.

Reflection is necessary for progress.
Look at the last 25 days.

Not for perfection.
For evidence of progress.

Where did you follow through?
Where did you choose differently?
Where did you show up when you normally wouldn’t?

This is how self trust is built.

Not by doing everything right.

But by noticing that you didn’t stay the same.

Am I safe?

Your body is constantly asking this question.

When you’ve been in survival mode for a long time,
your nervous system can stay on high alert
even when nothing around you is actually wrong.

One simple way to interrupt that pattern
is through your body.

Hand on your chest.
Slow breath in.
Long exhale out.

This is not just calming.

Research shows that gentle self touch and slow breathing help activate your body’s calming system
and signal safety to your nervous system.

You’re teaching your body what safety feels like.

Stay with it.

Your body is adaptable.

Which means it can survive chaos…
but it can also learn calm.

If you’ve been in survival mode for a long time,
slowing down, choosing differently, and doing less
can feel uncomfortable at first.

That doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

It means you’re adjusting.

This past week you’ve been practicing:

One Frog
One Fire
One moment of fun

That structure might feel new.
Even unfamiliar.

Stay with it.

Your nervous system is learning a new way to exist.

Let yourself adapt.

Self sabotage is not always obvious.

It is in the patterns you have started calling “just who I am.”

“I’m always late.”
“I’m bad with money.”
“I’ve always been unorganized.”

Those may not be your identity.

They may be habits that have been repeated long enough to feel true.

And the hardest part…

The patterns that keep you stuck are the ones you struggle to see on your own.

This week is about getting honest with yourself
and allowing support where you need it

What is one pattern you are ready to look at differently?

If prioritizing joy feels uncomfortable, you’re not alone.

A lot of us were taught to wait.

Wait until everything is done.
Wait until everything is stable.
Wait until it’s “safe” to relax.

That’s foreboding joy.

Always expecting something to go wrong.

But here’s the shift.

You don’t need permission to enjoy your life.

Not later.
Now.

What’s one moment you can actually let yourself enjoy today?

03/19/2026

This is your reminder.

You don’t have to do this alone.

There is something powerful about being in spaces that allow you to slow down…
to reflect…
to reset…

We thrive in community.

Because we’re supported while we do our work

Allow support, structure, and connection to hold you

You don’t need to catch up
You don’t need to do everything

Just choose one
And let yourself be supported in the process

If you’ve been doing this quietly, this is your invitation to not do it alone anymore

Welcome to Catalyst Counseling, LLC!

We specialize in working with people who feel like they are stuck due to past experiences of trauma or loss. When we lose people who are close to us, trust in our relationships or even faith in ourselves, it can become difficult to find hope in the future. Our passion is working with individuals and couples who are fed up and know that something has to change but are not quite sure how to change it. We customize our approaches to meet client needs. Our training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing and Gottman Couples Therapy.
