Just because it’s familiar doesn’t mean it’s forever. You get to choose a different way.

Let this be a gentle invitation to reflect — without pressure or urgency.

This card is from our “Let That Go” deck, a reflection tool we created for therapists, clients, and anyone navigating emotional healing and growth.

Not all heaviness is grief. Sometimes, it’s resistance to letting go of what no longer fits.

Let this be a gentle invitation to reflect — without pressure or urgency.

I am so excited for all of the community collaborations and events coming up this year! With this I am hiring for a new position. If this sounds like you or someone you know, please pass it along!

Catalyst Counseling is Hiring: Community Projects Manager (Part-Time)

We’re looking for someone who’s organized, people-centered, and not afraid to roll up their sleeves to help push meaningful projects forward in our community.

This is a 3-month paid, part-time contract (with the potential to renew) to support Catalyst Counseling’s mission of making mental health more accessible, relatable, and rooted in the community.

What You’ll Do

Help coordinate local events and outreach (health fairs, giveaways, small workshops, pop-ups)

Manage timelines and keep us on track

Support follow-up with partners, vendors, and local contacts

Organize content (photos, videos, graphics) and help prep it for social media

Track leads and RSVP lists so nothing falls through the cracks

This Might Be You If:

You love community-driven work and want to be part of something that actually makes a difference

You’re organized and can follow through without needing hand-holding

You’re tech-comfortable (Google Docs, Canva, Calendars, etc.)

You’re not afraid to speak up with your ideas — or remind someone (like our CEO) of a deadline

You enjoy supporting visionaries and helping bring ideas to life

Details:

$20–25/hr based on experience

5–10 hrs/week

Fully remote/flexible with occasional in-person meetups

Start: ASAP

Duration: 3 months, with opportunity to renew

It's hard to break generational cycles when you're exhausted, overwhelmed, and doing your best to “get it right,". That's when fear can sneak in.

Fear says:

“I have to fix this now.”

“If I don’t control it, everything will fall apart.”

“What does their behavior say about me as a parent?”

But connection says:

“Let me slow down and see what’s really happening.”

“I don’t have to have all the answers right now.”

“My calm can hold the space they need to feel safe.”

Many of the parents we support at Catalyst Counseling are navigating their own childhood wounds, perfectionism, or anxiety and sometimes, parenting from fear feels automatic. But here’s the shift:

You don’t have to be perfect.
You just have to be present.

Start small:
-Pause before reacting
-Breathe with your child, not at them
-Get curious instead of jumping to conclusions
- Offer yourself the same compassion you want your child to feel

Because parenting from connection isn’t soft it’s strong.
It’s the quiet work of healing generational patterns and building emotionally safe homes.

What helps you stay grounded when parenting gets overwhelming?

Waiting for an apology or acknowledgement of wrong doing can quietly keep you stuck.
It promises closure, but often delivers more silence.

Sometimes, peace is deciding:

-I can heal without their permission.

-I can grieve what I wish they had said.

-I can choose to not carry this with me everyday.

This reflective question from my Let That Go card deck challenges you to decide what your peace looks like without that other person giving you the thing you feel you greatly need from them.

Because peace doesn’t always come from them.
Sometimes, it begins with you. 🎗️💚

I'm so excited to announce our second Table Talk is set for June 4th at 4:30! And just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month we're going to be talking about Breaking Generational Cycles.

Your Story, Your Struggles, Did NOT start with you.

At our first talk these ideas came up of forgiving those in our past to move forward and the forward intention was to CREATE SOMETHING BETTER for our children, for our relationships but most importantly FOR OURSELVES.

Let's put it all on the table and talk about moving forward, doing something different and how to do that by continuing to embrace our culture and honor those who came before us.

-What family story am I trying to not relive?
-What am I doing today that is different than how I was raised?
-Who or what could support me in creating the legacy I want to leave for my children?

Let's discuss it over some good food! Aunt Tina's Kitchen added their delicious chicken wings to our special menu!!!!!!

Can't wait to see you all there!

So for the past three years, I’ve had a waitlist for people wanting to work with me one on one. And while I never make people wait (I always connect them with another amazing clinician) I know some of you have still been hoping to work directly with me.

That’s why I’m opening FIVE Coaching Spots for those ready to take action and finally create the change they’ve been craving. Coaching is different from counseling. This isn't about doing a deep dive into your past, this is about getting disciplined towards your future focused actions.

Are you ready to stop dreaming that your life can be better?

Let's do something about it together.

Schedule a free 30 minute consult to see if this can be the thing you need to get you to the life you want.

If it turns out that counseling would be a better fit, I'll let you know and connect you to a great counselor.
