We toured Three Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care in Cary, IL, and it’s such a sweet place! In the memory care area, there’s a little nook outside each apartment with shadow boxes that help residents remember which is their space. It kind of feels like a little porch with a chair, making it super personal and inviting. Our wonderful tour guide told us the cart of fresh flowers is donated weekly by Trader Joe’s. The staff help residents make beautiful floral arrangements for the dining tables — so cheerful and homey.

🌴Penny's week was packed with smiles, connections and communities!

Penny kicked off the week at the Lake/McHenry COC meeting at Belmont Village in Buffalo Grove, where she had the pleasure of meeting our wonderful Oasis partners from Lake County, Rob Nimmer and Katie Brooks. Thank you both for being such fantastic collaborators!

She also had some great one-on-one time with Ellen Lerner from Accord Hospice and David Feinstein from Comfort Keepers Home Care- two organizations doing amazing work to support our senior community.👵👴

But that's not all!! Penny went on some exciting community tours to help us find the perfect senior living options for our clients. She visited Linda Marre at Clarendale in Addison and Steve Rainsford and his team at Encore Village in Schaumburg. Both communities had so much to offer- beautiful amenities, welcoming environments, and top notch care!🏊🎶🎲💐

Today, Penny got to visit some friends at the Barn in Schaumburg!! The Barn is truly a second home for many seniors and friends with disabilities. It’s a vibrant community space that offers food, fun, and fellowship, supporting good health for the mind, body, and soul. The staff are always so supportive and kind, creating a warm and welcoming environment.

They offer nutritious and affordable meals (suggested donation $4–$6), special events, and educational programs on current topics. It’s a place where seniors can connect and support each other.

Penny brought treats for all the seniors and added some height to the "pot" for bingo, making the game even more exciting! The Barn is truly one of our favorite places to visit.
