✨ Constellation Pegasus 🐎🌌

Today we’re looking up at Pegasus, the legendary Winged Horse of the night sky.

🔭 Quick facts:
• 7th-largest constellation out of 88 recognized by the IAU
• Best seen from September to November (🌟 peak in October)
• Its star pattern shows only the upper half of the horse, without the hind legs
• Pegasus is home to history’s first exoplanet discovered around a Sun-like star: Dimidium (51 Pegasi b), found in 1995

📖 Mythology behind the stars 📖

Pegasus is an ancient constellation tied to the myths of Perseus and Andromeda. According to legend, the winged horse was born from the blood of Medusa when Perseus defeated her. As her blood touched the earth, Pegasus sprang forth — already able to fly.

Perseus later rode Pegasus while rescuing Andromeda from a sea monster. The winged horse then became the companion of the hero Bellerophon, helping him defeat the fearsome Chimera 🐲🔥.

But when Bellerophon tried to ride Pegasus all the way to Mount Olympus, Zeus punished his arrogance, causing him to fall back to Earth. Pegasus, however, remained loyal to Zeus, carrying his thunderbolts ⚡️.

🏛️ As a reward, Zeus placed Pegasus among the stars — where it still flies across our skies today.

🌞🌘 Namaste and Good Saturday, Saturn’s Day Morning. Moon is expressing Krishna Chaturdashi, his 14th waning tithi, and he is almost ready for his auspicious silent Dark Moon retreat tomorrow in Uttara Ashadha. We begin Mauni Amavasya today at 12:30pm until 1:50 pm CST tomorrow. Its a time to fast, meditate, and practice Mauni, silence. We can extend this practice and continue Monday during Moon’s visit with Shravana.
It’s a powerful time to rejuvenate and gain victory over our lower nature and clarity of our Dharma.
Moon remains with Purva Ashadha until 10:45 pm tonight preparing for his visit with the family in Uttara Ashadha. He fluctuates between ready and unsteady but Apas (water) is contained so emotions respond from within.

The family of planets, waiting for Moon’s arrival, have gathered in Capricorn with Saturn ruling and waiting in Pisces and Jupiter looking back and watching across from across the sky in Gemini with Rahu and Ketu defining the context. Mercury, Mars, Venus, and Moon, all in close proximity to Sun in Uttara Ashadha, begin to celebrate our upcoming spiritual focus. Mars rises to the occasion to lead the way to victory with Sun a bit tired but gaining more energy each day. The others are subdued by Sun who influences Abhiji, the victorious region of the transition region from Uttara Ashadha to Shravana overnight Sunday/early Monday morning. Venus pauses and Mercury quiets. All are attentive to Sun. We thrive, waiting for the direction to clarify, even with Moon surrendering in dark retreat. All are settling and adjusting to Earthy Capricorn ruled by Saturn. Saturn’s containment provides focus and introspection guided by the Vishwadevas (the Universal deities) as we learn to liberate in our internal world while fully present.
Purva and Uttara Ashadha create one attribute…simplicity. We turn away from unnecessary attachments, external and internal. We thrive on the ambiance of retreat within unfettered and uncluttered open space. We shrink to expand.

May we enjoin with the family of planets in Capricorn during Moon’s Mauni Amavasya attending to details and structure knowing that our most profound intentions may bring us through our potential discomfort during this spiritual growth gifting us peace, harmony, tranquility, and healing (not burning) light from Sun.
