Introducing a new Yoga Nidra Series with Harmony.

Yoga Nidra is an ancient deep rest practice that guides the mind into a state between wakefulness and dreaming.

During this practice, you’ll maintain auditory awareness
while limiting input from other senses during a guided meditation that proceeds through the 5 koshas (layered aspects of the physical-mental-energetic bodies) to discover, process, and ultimately release deep tensions and blocks. Benefits of the practice can include better sleep quality, improved memory, increased creativity —basically a general reset for the central nervous system.

Each session will begin with 15 minutes of asana practice to help prepare the physical body for stillness, then we’ll take our time propping ourselves into positions where we can relax into ease and comfort. While each roughly 45-minute yoga nidra practice will be different, they will all follow the same basic format: preparation, resolve, rotation of consciousness, breath work, opposite sensations, visualizations, and return. Then, we’ll slowly reground through our senses and return to the waking world. There will be time at the end for optional journaling.

Join us as we welcome Lisa and Jesolyn of The Pilates Studio to Bloomington Yoga Collective for this special Pilates Mat Salon Series. Classical Pilates, developed by joseph Pilates, maintains a steadfast reputation for its comprehensive approach to body conditioning through balance, core strength, flexibility, and improved posture.

What if resistance were considered sacred?

What if we considered it a mirror?

As we cultivate the power to rest in awareness of the resistance our bodies and minds hold, we can let go of physical and mental patterns that no longer serve us.

Resistance is a way for the body and mind to alert us what needs changing in our lives - releasing stress, anxiety, fear, and resentments.

As we cultivate the power to rest in awareness of what we find beautiful, powerful, and worthy of fighting for, we can harness our personal and collective power to resist the unjust.

Resistance which moves in the direction of love, liberation, freedom, and connectedness is a way for the collective to make changes in the world.

When the world feels too full of grief and pain, when you feel at a loss and don’t know how to help, remember. . . healing yourself is the most impactful thing you can do to interrupt the cycle. Doubling down on selfcare, prioritizing sleep, breath, moving your body, and healthy foods are not selfish acts - you are training so that you can stand in this world with a strong spine and a soft heart. You are training so that you can be resilient, so that you can show up for those you love, the most vulnerable, for what you believe in.
