Introducing a new Yoga Nidra Series with Harmony.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient deep rest practice that guides the mind into a state between wakefulness and dreaming.
During this practice, you’ll maintain auditory awareness
while limiting input from other senses during a guided meditation that proceeds through the 5 koshas (layered aspects of the physical-mental-energetic bodies) to discover, process, and ultimately release deep tensions and blocks. Benefits of the practice can include better sleep quality, improved memory, increased creativity —basically a general reset for the central nervous system.
Each session will begin with 15 minutes of asana practice to help prepare the physical body for stillness, then we’ll take our time propping ourselves into positions where we can relax into ease and comfort. While each roughly 45-minute yoga nidra practice will be different, they will all follow the same basic format: preparation, resolve, rotation of consciousness, breath work, opposite sensations, visualizations, and return. Then, we’ll slowly reground through our senses and return to the waking world. There will be time at the end for optional journaling.
