Our Story
Philip Clampitt is a specialist in a manual therapy called Rolf Method Structural Integration that focuses on addressing the cause of pain or dysfunction, not just the symptom. It uses safe touch and therapeutic movement to re-educate the nervous system to have more efficient and functional connective tissue. Philip’s work uses special techniques address shortened, thickened, and dehydrated connective tissue that restricts and impairs joint mobility, muscle function and proper postural alignment. Dr. Ida P. Rolf was the founder of The Rolf Method of Structural Integration in 1968. She designed the system as a way to deeply manipulate and reorganize the fascial connective tissue system which surrounds every muscle and organ in the body. She created the 10-session series posture balancing program focusing on a different part of the body each session in order to bring the body back into alignment with gravity. After school, Philip gained over 3500 hours clinical experience from a sports medicine clinic out of Chicago. Currently, to the best of his knowledge, he is the only Structural Bodywork practitioner in the state of Indiana offering the original Ten Series posture balancing work as taught by Dr. Ida P. Rolf who has over 3500 hours of experience practicing under the direct supervision of a sports medicine doctor. Some of the conditions he has experience working with include: • Bulging or Herniated Disc • Headaches and Migraines • Plantar Fasciitis • Back Pain / Neck Pain • Scoliosis • Shoulder / Elbow / Wrist Pain • Sciatica • Multiple Sclerosis • Rotator Cuff Syndrome • Sprains / Strains • Ligament / Muscle / Tendon Injury • Hip Dysplasia • Degenerated Discs • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome • Hip / Knee / Foot Pain • Tendonitis • Arthritis He offers a 10-session series posture balancing program as well as single targeted sessions designed for your individual needs. Targeted sessions are great for a number of painful conditions on an as needed basis. They are great for getting all the “kinks” worked out in a very different way than all forms of massage. Longer lasting stress relief and greater joint mobility is a by-product of this deeper form of bodywork. Targeted sessions are also very effective for athletic performance by enhancing recovery time and achieving more efficient firing of the muscles. These types of sessions are very useful before and after intense competitions. The 10-session series posture balancing program is what got this work known when it was featured on the Oprah show with the ask Dr. Oz Show. The posture balancing program will help to re-educate your muscles to fire more efficiently so you stand more upright by balancing the whole fascial network in the body from head to toe. The postural change from the Rolf Posture Balancing work allows bones to rest in their proper plane of motion helping to reduce inflamed and compressed nerves after fascial strains in the connective tissue are balanced. Proper alignment of your postural form helps to decrease pain and increase range of motion in the rib cage to enhance lung capacity. The greater oxygen intake promotes greater health for all organs in the body and stress relief. The 10-session series posture balancing program is a wonderful tool to use for increasing overall health and longevity. The effects can last for years with only occasional maintenance work.
