Coming Together for What Matters Most

Our seniors hold a very special place in our hearts. While SouthernCare Hospice and Gentiva Hospice may serve as competitors in the field, we’re a part of the same family with one shared mission: to provide compassionate care and dignity to those we serve.

On Saturday, our teams joined forces at the Lawrence County Senior Expo to show that when it comes to the people of our community, we always come together where it counts the most.

What a pleasure it was to talk with so many folks about their Medicare hospice benefit. It filled our cups to hear the many heartfelt stories shared by family members of those we’ve cared for in the past.

Berry grateful, berry sweet, CNA Week just couldn’t be beat!

SouthernCare Hospice and Amedisys Home Health Care teamed up for a short but oh-so-sweet celebration at The Springs of Mooresville, treating the incredible CNAs to a Strawberry Shortcake Bar that was the berry best! We couldn’t layer on enough appreciation for these compassionate caregivers who go the extra mile every single day. From the bottom of our shortcake-loving hearts, thank you for all the love, strength, and heart you bring to the job. You’re the whipped cream on top of everything we do, and we’re honored to celebrate YOU this National CNA Week!

Together, we make a difference.

Last Friday, our Executive HCC and RN Jeremy Slaten from SouthernCare and HCC Bella Burton from Gentiva teamed up to host a cookout for the incredible staff of Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

With both branches being a part of the Gentiva Hospice family, we are proud to represent as a united team, serving patients and families with heart, dignity, and trusted quality care.

A look at our Spring Memorial Service.

Last Friday, our SouthernCare team had the honor to stand alongside the families of those we had the privilege to care for as we remembered them and reflected on the impact they had on our lives.

Together, we honored the memory of beloved friends and family members who are no longer with us. We released butterflies, a symbol of hope, transformation, and eternal love, in a peaceful and beautiful ceremony of remembrance.
