What type of postpartum goodies do you enjoy or love to gift? These items may not be everyone's cup of tea, but here are a few of their benefits to keep food as your recovery medicine!
🦴Bone broth. Full of proteins like collagen, as well as amino acids and electrolytes. It can improve gut health and tissue repair!
🥣Lentil soup. Lentils are full of fiber, potassium, magnesium, and antioxidants. This soup combines them with iron rich leafy greens and protein/vitamin dense quinoa! Warmth is also a key element for postpartum body recovery because so much warmth is lost through delivery.
💚Seaweed. An excellent source of iodine, antioxidants and vitamins. Iodine can be a tricky mineral to get but its crucial in thyroid function. 1 out of 12 woman will experience postpartum thyroiditis which has symptoms of anxiety, palpitations, hair loss and depression.
🐟Sardines. Maybe not a crowd favorite lol. These little powerhouses have an abundance of Omega-3 fats that aid against inflammation. As well as protein, iron, selenium and calcium.
