INTRODUCTION: Have you ever wondered how to receive a Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) or other rental subsidy to cover part of the costs of renting a good place? Join us for an informative online session where we will discuss the process and requirements for applying for rental subsidies, and their availability.

Have you ever wondered why some groups are given preferences to receive rental subsidies, including HCVs? Learn about the IHCDA Administrative Plan and the policies and preferences that determine who will first receive available rental subsidies. Each of us can give public input into this Plan and help shape the policies that decide who receives these valuable resources.

Topic to Include:

● Basics of Housing Choice Vouchers & Other Rental Subsidies.
● Housing Choice Vouchers for People with Disabilities.
● Rental Assistance for People with Disabilities Living in Rental Housing Tax
Credit (RHTC) Properties.
● IHCDA Policy That Prioritizes Wheelchair Accessible Units for Tenants with Mobility Limitations in RHTC Properties.
● The IHCDA Administrative Plan and Opportunities for Public Input

Intended Audience: People with disabilities, advocates for disability rights, representatives from non-profit organizations working to improve housing choice.

This event is made possible by the generous support of the AWS Foundation

🌟 July is Disability Pride Month! 🌟

🌟 Disability Pride Month is an annual celebration throughout July that celebrates people with disabilities, commemorates the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and promotes disability culture and visibility.

🌟 More than 1 in 4 adults in the United States—over 70 million people—have a disability. This month calls on everyone to promote inclusion and ensure people with disabilities are accepted exactly as they are!

🌟 This year's theme is “We Belong Here, and We’re Here to Stay”! At Stone Belt, we're grateful to be a part of building belonging, and we affirm that community members with disabilities are here to stay, every day!
