☀️ First day of summer!

Summer can bring so many opportunities for connection, but it can also bring big emotions, overstimulation, disrupted routines, and exhausted parents trying to hold it all together.

I’ve been working on something behind the scenes centered around emotional regulation, daily rhythm, connection, and realistic routines that actually work. More details to come 👀

Here’s to a summer of grace over perfection, connection before correction, and finding what works for your family. ☀️

I’ve been working on something exciting that involves:

☀️ Summer
🖍️ Kids
🧠 Emotional Regulation
📋 Routines that actually fit with real life
… and probably way too many tabs open on my computer 😂

Still putting the finishing touches on it, but I’m really excited to share soon! Especially for parents who want more calm, rhythm, and support this summer without turning home into boot camp.

Stay tuned! 👀

Last week Friday I was honored to be nominated for Outstanding Mental Health Provider in Monroe County, alongside so many incredible leaders doing meaningful work in our community. Truly such a gift and privilege to walk alongside children, teens, and families through some of their hardest and most important moments.

This work matters deeply to me, and I’m endlessly grateful for the trust families place in me every day. Thankful to be part of a community that continues to advocate for mental health, connection, and support for our kids.

And a huge congratulations to all of the winners across every category—so many deserving individuals and organizations being recognized for the impact they’re making in our community each day. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so much passion, advocacy, and heart 🤍

🚨LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL! LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!

The last week of school can bring out all the things—excitement, exhaustion, big emotions, clinginess, attitude shifts, shutdowns, and sensory overload.

Kids are carrying the weight of transitions, changing routines, academic pressure, social dynamics, and anticipation for summer… even when they don’t have words to explain it.

If your child seems “off” this week, it may not be defiance, it may be overwhelm. Connection, predictability, and extra grace go a long way right now ❤️

This work constantly reminds me that connection changes things 💚

Not every child walks into therapy ready to talk. Some are guarded, unsure, or carrying things they’ve kept buried for a long time.

Getting to watch trust slowly build—and seeing kids begin to put words to their experiences is something I never take for granted.

Midweek check-in 💚

Did you see Monday’s post?
What have you been doing this week to care for yourself?

Mental health care is often found in the small moments:
• drinking water before the caffeine
• stepping outside for fresh air
• answering the text you’ve been avoiding
• sitting quietly in your car before walking inside
• asking for help instead of pushing through alone.

You do not have to overhaul your entire life by Friday for this week to matter.

Small acts of care still count.

Mental health support doesn’t always look dramatic or profound.

Sometimes it can look like:
• Sitting in the car for a few extra minutes after a hard day
• Remembering to eat lunch
• Texting someone back
• Letting yourself rest without earning it first
• Showing up imperfectly anyway

Small things matter more than people realize.

Healing is often built through consistent moments of care— not just major breakthroughs 💚

This month, give yourself credit for the things that don’t always get seen.

The maybe not so funny thing about Mental Health Awareness Month is that it is often the month that people either forget about their therapy appointments or put them on the back burner. End-of-school events, sports, graduations, vacations, schedule changes… life gets busy fast.

But also interestingly, this is the time of year I tend to see an increase in people reaching out already in crisis mode:

Mental health usually doesn’t need attention only when things fall apart. Sometimes the most important support happens before things feel unmanageable.

If you’ve been thinking about starting therapy, returning to therapy, or even just asking questions about the process, this is your reminder to be proactive with your mental health this month.

I currently have openings next week available for:
• Consultations
• New client intakes
• Returning clients

Even one conversation can be a good place to start 💚

When we talk about mental health for kids, we often focus on behaviors, coping skills, or what needs to change:

But one of the biggest influences on a child’s mental health isn’t a strategy.

It’s the adults around them.

The ones who stay calm when things feel chaotic.
The ones who listen without immediately correcting.
The ones who make it clear: “you’re safe with me—even in this moment.”

Kids don’t just learn how to manage emotions.
They learn it through us.

Mental health doesn’t develop in isolation—it grows in the presence of steady, caring adults.

So this month, yes—let’s raise awareness.
But also remember:

Your presence, your patience, your consistency—that’s mental health support in real time.
