Arrow Study Club

Arrow Study Club Arrow Study Club is an affiliate of Seattle Study Club and provides excellent continuing education for dentists and there teams in Central Illinois.

The Arrow Study Club was founded by Dr. Kirk Noraian with the mission to offer clinicians educational experiences that exceed their highest expectations of excellence, and motivate them to learn more and gain a higher level of comprehensive care for their patients within the profession. The symbol of the arrow comes from the latin epic poem called The Aeneid by Virgil. In the story, Aeneas encounters a storm which causes him to abort his trip to Italy and redirect to the Sicilian port of Eryx, where his friend King Acestes rules, who is a fellow Trojan. Upon his arrival, Aeneas recalls it is the one-year anniversary of the passing of his father, Anchises, so he proposes eight days of sacrificial offerings followed by a ninth day of competitive games to which the Sicilians agree. Many contests ensue followed by the archery contest to shoot a bird tethered to the mast of a ship. First comes, Hippocoon who hits the mast, shakes the bird and everyone can see it is alive. Next, Mnestheus shoots, missing the bird and cutting the cord freeing the bird from the mast. Eurytion is up next and he shoots the escaping bird. Last up is King Acestes who has nothing left to shoot so he decides to demonstrate his strength. King Acestes aims high into air, his arrow catches fire midflight and it turns into a shooting star. Hence, comes the Arrow Study Club motto, “Aiming high for the care of our patients.”
