I have never seen a family like Kaylyn’s ~ these women show up for each other! Seeing 3 generations of women together was so powerful. The love of a mother for her daughter who has ushered in a new granddaughter~ that is the love that’s captured here. Haylee’s birth went so fast, but the peace, and love, and respect for physiological birth that is given at the Birth Center made time stop.

It’s an honor to support you every time.

S H I L O H R U E

When I met Claire, I knew immediately I wanted to work with her for the birth of her first child. She hired me near the end of her pregnancy, but it’s never too late to hire a doula.

Claire had a plan and was prepared, but sometimes life throws us unexpected paths. And, in this birth story being induced was not what we had planned, it was unexpected, but needed.

Inductions can take a long time, and Claire and Cliff were ready. They, worked hard, and it was a long labor… it went through 2 nights, and was truly a labor of love.

The most beautiful moment was right at the end when Claire had laughter while pushing and tears of anticipation. Cliff caught baby Shiloh and placed her right on mom’s chest. And, after awhile Dad even got to bond skin to skin!

It was beautiful & sacred… birth will take us to our limits and right there God provides and gives us exactly what we need to push through. Claire’s strength and perseverance truly shined.

Having a doula on your birth team helps with unexpected twists and turns in our birth stories, it was truly an honor to support Claire and Cliff. Each couple, each baby, has a special place in my heart. Shiloh Rue, you are a sweet little girl!! We are so glad you are here 💝

She is the sweetest little sister, and has stolen the hearts of us all.
Her story begins with reminding us that labor cannot be rushed. It’s a surrender to our bodies and our babies…
but when she was ready, little Haylee was ready!!!

The birth of Haylee, at the had so many gifts.
~a warm bath waiting
~a calm and wise staff
~the gift of family sharing in this sacred moment
~skin to skin immediately and continuously for mom and dad
~several parts of Haylee’s birth story would have induced panic, fear and chaos at a hospital, but at the birth center there was instead a wise calm, a peace, and a trust in mom, her body and birth itself.

Birth is a sacred, and holy moment…
and the environment you place yourself in for birth can not only change the story of that, but also foster a contagious peace that begins as baby is born, and carries over into your motherhood. It was an honor to be a part of Haylee’s story.

T H E B I R T H O F B R A D Y!

Brady’s parents reached out to me about 4 weeks ago and asked me to be their doula. (It’s never too late to put in place a team of support!)
Their first birth ended in an unexpected c-section. And, this time they were hoping for a different experience. They had decided to change providers and give birth at the Birth Center, and then, recently learned of the statistics and benefits around having a doula.

I’m passionate about helping couples work physiologically with baby positioning and with opening and moving our pelvis in labor. We began work right away to keep baby head down and prepare for birth.

This birth was the culmination of prayer, hard work, preparation and teamwork. Laboring throughout the night and almost in to the next evening, Megan was steadfast, strong, and determined. It was a beautiful, sacred experience and as Brady was ushered into the world praise music was playing as they had the most redemptive birth experience. Truly an honor to support this family. I’m still in awe ✨

Wait. I thought doulas were just for Homebirths?

Nope. I have been hired for every type of birth listed above, except the one in the woods 😅 (But hey! Don’t let that prevent you from asking for that either!)

Honestly, even if you want an epidural having a doula is so helpful because you still need to labor until your provider allows you to get one, you also get the wisdom and assistance of a doula to help move you and change your positions so that physiologically we keep baby moving down that birth canal! And, studies show that having the support of a doula at your birth can reduce the chances of a c-section by 50%!

I love my repeat clients. Supporting Jessica and Austin again for their 3rd birth was an honor. But also, the wonder and beauty of Jessica’s grace and peace in labor will always bring me awe. What a joy to watch them get their surprise baby boy, Huck! Welcome little Huck, you are so loved!

Meet little Walter….

The Scott’s met with me back in the fall and shared how so much of their lives have changed since their last child was born many years ago. For the birth of their 4th child they were planning to have a natural, peaceful labor at the along with the support of a doula.

One of my favorite parts of working with this family was watching the care and connection this couple had with one another. Don was hands on and ready to learn any way to support his wife. He was so thankful for the many different physiological moves that I would give him to help Liz and baby keep moving during these contractions early on in labor…

At the end of labor, our support as her birth team is less physical and becomes more emotional with encouragement and belief in her: the gentle touch of her midwife, me blocking out all the room with a washcloth encouraging rest to gather strength for the next surge, Don’s strong love beside her (the only love that matters in that moment) and lastly, but most obviously, the spirit of the Lord that fueled Liz in warrior strength!

Birth is a sacred, even spiritual experience and the is a special conduit of this. ✨

It is such an honor to support and walk with every woman, every couple, every time.
