When looking for a wellness coach, or yoga instructor, how do you know you’re finding the right individual?

There’s often a wide range of skill, knowledge, and competency in the coaching and yoga space. How can you know a coach or instructor is qualified to help you?

Looking at the education and qualifications your coach or teacher has received is a great place to start!

I’ve trainied with some of the best organizations, to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to help my clients reach their peak.

The prestigious Mayo Clinic Wellness Coach Training Program taught and developed evidence based techniques that are proven to be effective in supporting lasting behavior change. The Mayo graduates finish this program with a strong skillset, prepared to utilize Motivational Interviewing and Positive Psychology techniques to guide clients to success. I firmly believe this to be the best prepratory coaching program in the nation.

My yoga training began at the excellent StudioB Yoga Center in Danville, PA with certification in Vinyasa Flow Yoga and the RYT-200 credentials through the Yoga Alliance. It continued with certifications in breath coaching, yin yoga, restorative yoga, mindfulness meditation, and yoga nidra.

Currently working towards the RYT-500 designation through with the goal of becoming a Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist. This therapeutic based program focuses heavily upon the function and dysfunction of the human body, and prepares the graduates to be adjuncts to the care of doctors and healthcare providers.

Through this program, I’ve completed and hold certificates in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Sequencing with Purpose, Mindful, Trauma Informed Yoga, Recognizing Red Flags in a Therapeutic Yoga Setting, and Conducting a Comprehensive Evaluation in a Therapeutic Setting.

My passion lies in helping clients build mindfulness and awareness of their central nervous system. Offering modalities to help return and build health in that system. A healthy, functioning nervous system can help manage stress and reduce anxiety (more on that to come.) naturally, giving you back the richness of life! Reach out anytime to learn more!

Happy October yogis!!

I don’t know about you, but October always reminds me to get outside, expand the comfort zone, not take things too seriously, and have some fun!! It’s the month of Halloween after all (maybe just the best holiday ever?!🤷🏻‍♂️) 🎃🐈‍⬛🍁🕸👻

Good morning yogis!! Come on down to StudioB this evening, and join me as we shift gears and welcome some quiet energy into the week!

Good morning, community! ☀️☕️

Just a friendly reminder that TONIGHT is our first evening of YIN-YANG YOGA @ 5:15-6:15PM, instructed by Andrew (). Please join us, and let’s give his new class a great kick-start! Virtual and in-person students welcome.

Here are some answers to a few questions that you may be asking about this unique blend of yoga styles:

☯️ “What is Yin-Yang Yoga?”

This style is a mix of Yang (Vinyasa Flow) and Yin Yoga. This unique blend helps the practitioner work deeper into the muscles, fascia and connective tissues, welcoming improvements in flexibility and mobility. It also encourages a strong mind-body balance, as there is space to welcome quiet, Yin energy in, countering the abundance of Yang energy that we build in our daily, modern lives.

☯️ “Is Yin-Yang Yoga for me?”

ABSOLUTELY! It can be practiced by anyone! Both a beginner and a seasoned practitioner alike will see great benefits from this practice.

☯️ “What can I expect in a Yin-Yang Yoga class?”

The first third of the class will be dedicated to warming up the body and the joints with a traditional Vinyasa Flow. The class will then shift to a slower paced Yin practice. Poses will be explored for 3 to 5 minutes, providing the body an opportunity to respond and relax. You will learn how the body’s nervous system plays an important role in developing your flexibility.

And don’t forget... following this new session is our LET’S GET LOUD YOGA @ 6:30-7:30PM with the wonderful Martha () 💕 The lights get turned down, and the music gets turned up! Happy National Garden Meditation Day!

What a beautiful time of year it is to sit in a garden and practice a mindfulness meditation, giving time and space to become fully present and aware. Perhaps some beautiful sounds and scents will greet you in the garden today.

As I sat this morning, the cool morning air met my skin and entered in my breath, the birds sang in the woods and a distant mower droned. The scent of lilacs heavily perfumed the garden and a bee was busily buzzing about. 🌺🐝

These words from the Buddha came to mind. “The wise live without injuring nature, as the bee drinks nectar without harming the flower.” and also, “Many bouquets can be made from a heap of flowers. Many good deeds can be done in this life.”

Yep! Live gently and do good! And don’t forget to practice yoga! 🌞

It’s indeed a great day to sit in a garden and become fully present in the moment!

Hey everyone!

Andrew from Valley Rose Yoga here. Spring is in full bloom here in Pennsylvania, and spirits have certainly been lifted by this glorious season. Yet, my heart is with my brothers and sisters in India, and around the globe, who are enduring tremendous suffering as the pandemic overwhelms their resources.

I humbly offer this brief meditation to build and send the energy of love and compassion to those who could use it.

Additionally, I’ll provide a link to Doctors Without Borders who are working to bring care to the afflicted. If you find yourself in abundance, perhaps your heart is compelled to send a donation to help a fellow being in their time of need.

Earth Day is an annual reminder of the amazing love that Mother Earth always gives us! 🌍

It also provides an opportunity to try to love her more perfectly in return. Today, and everyday, Valley Rose Yoga is committed to loving her with the burning passion of a love drunk teenager. Yearning to feel her beautiful caress with every drop of rain, every blooming flower, and every breath of air. Dancing everyday, to her song, intoxicated by her perfect beauty. Always ready to fight against any institution that would bring her harm. Committed to living gently 🌱 and respectfully, so she may always feel love, too.

The day started out with a striking sunrise in the Eastern sky. A few hours later, the rain clouds moved in, as they often do. When the rain comes we are provided a choice; stay inside and watch the drops of rain run down window panes, or get outside to join the rain and fully experience it.

I prefer to get out into the rain. To know it, to sit in it, to play in it, and to feel the wet earth under my feet. 🌎 Found a nice spot by the edge of a growing creek today to be with the rain.

Not everyday will welcome sunshine into our lives, but even on the gloomiest of days we can connect back with joy if we bring the proper attitude. If we remember that today’s rain is tomorrow’s flowers, tomorrow’s crops, and tomorrow’s cool drink of water. Rainy days don’t last long, nor do the sunny ones. Everything is impermanent, and we can choose to go with the flow.
