Well the wonderful Bloomsburg Fair is almost here! It’s only been cancelled twice that I know of. In 2011 a flood closed it and last year Covid-19. Needless to say a lot of us are looking forward to it, but not as much as the carnival people who work there. This is the only fair in the USA who offers them a welcome in the form of a Christian Outreach called Columbia County Christian Fair Ministry. We are 13 churches of all denominations who work together to offer them medical help, new and used clothing, food, new pillows, Christian love and respect! These workers do not have the comforts of home like most of us enjoy. So this year you may want to say “thank you” for providing us with a little fun during these hard times!

This is the only fair in the USA to offer a mission!!! I was pleased to run the organization for many years until handing it over to Randy Ruckle who lives in Bloomsburg. If you see him, tell him thank you for continuing his volunteer services!!!

During the month of September, First Presbyterian Church of Bloomsburg will be a drop-off site for donations for Bloomsburg Fair workers, as coordinated by Columbia County Christian Fair Ministry. From CCCFM: "Consider what it would be like to live in a 4x8 cubicle with all your possessions, traveling all over our country to a different location each week. And for what? To provide us with great carnival entertainment. We are 13 churches and organizations of all Christian denominations working together as a welcoming outreach to the Bloomsburg Fair carnival workers. Provided are clothing, two meals, laundry service, medical exams, and hygiene kits. Christian counseling and ecumenical services are offered as well. Workers tell us we are the only fair in the U.S. to welcome them to our community."

Please pray for this mission! Last year there was no Bloomsburg Fair so we were unable to help those in need. With a new strain of Covid looming, pray we can pull it off this year!! This is the ONLY FAIR IN THE USA to offer medical attention, handout new and used clothing, hygiene kits, food and most importantly provide Christian counseling when needed. If you are reading this, you probably take all of those things for granted! Consider what it would be like to live in a 4x8 cublicle (guessing the size of these by all the doors on the side of the trailers) with all your possessions, traveling all over our country to a different location each week. And for what?: To provide you with great carnival entertainment. I’ve watched some of them collecting their paychecks, they instructed them to send a lot of it to their loved ones back home and give them a small amount of cash for the week. If you plan on attending the BLOOMSBURG FAIR, and happen to have the opportunity, say “thank you” for their sacrifice for your pleasure!

Well the Bloomsburg fair is almost upon us once again. Mother Nature has spared us from another flood this week. Perhaps the flood wall is working? In any case thank you Jesus for allowing us to serve your less fortunate once again. Randy Ruckle has taken our mission to new heights. If you see him please say thank you! 2017 brings a new coordinator for CCCFM. His name is Randy Ruckle. For the locals he is well known for his volunteer services. CCCFM is fortunate to have him. May God continue to bless our mission!!!

2017 will be a transitional year as I will be stepping down due to health issues. But our fair ministry will continue in the capable hands of Randy Ruckle. He is no stranger to the Bloomsburg fair having been involved for many years with his two brothers stands. AGAPE is also one of his passions in the area as well. God bless all involved!!!! Our awesome body of Christ is in full preparation for our 2016 mission outreach on September 22nd. We welcome the carnival workers for the Bloomsburg Fair. They receive new and used clothing and blankets, two meals, hygiene kits, new pillows and health care. Spiritual uplifting is offered this day by our Catholic Priest and on Sunday a Protestant Service is held at the band shell. We are the only fair in the USA to offer ourselves as witness to God on His behalf. May He add His Blessing to our efforts again this year!! For those of you who will attend the fair this year, look and think beyond your enjoyment. Give thanks for those who sacrifice home life to provide it!! 💕🙏💕

CCCFM is a nonprofit organization that welcomes the Reithoffer carnival workers to the Bloomsburg Fair every year. We provide two free meals, hygiene kits, a Doctor and new and used clothing. We are the only fair in the USA to appreciate the sacrifice these people make to provide you with entertainment. They have no comforts of home or community. May God add His blessing to our efforts to try and remedy the situation by sharing our love and compassion!
