The Hurricane Café, located inside the new Calhoun Liberty Hospital, opens to the public Monday, September 8! We’re serving up fresh breakfast and lunch favorites - open to the community, hospital visitors, and colleagues.

🎥 A Historic First at Calhoun Liberty Hospital!

On August 17, 2025, 88-year-old Lonnie Nissley made history as he became the first patient admitted to our brand-new, state-of-the-art, 50,000-square-foot facility.

Mr. Nissley now holds a special place in CLH’s story - he was the last patient cared for in our original hospital and the very first patient welcomed into the new one! Our team carefully transferred him to the new facility, where he’s now receiving care in our short-term rehab program.

This moment represents more than a move - it marks the start of a new era of healthcare for Calhoun, Liberty and the surrounding areas. We are honored to continue providing compassionate, high-quality care for generations to come.

Yesterday morning, Calhoun Liberty Hospital transitioned from our longtime home into our new 50,000 sq. ft. facility. The Emergency Department welcomed its first patients just after 6 a.m., and we transfered the last patient in the old facility to the new CLH. We are excited to begin this new chapter of care for the community we love! 💙🩵
