Happy New Year!
Albert Einstein once said, “The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.” Your decision will shape your outlook, but the decision is yours to make.

A new year begins today.
Right now the rising sun is chasing away the darkness and illuminating the path ahead.
Will it be a good one, or a bad one?

In the quantum field we live in, it’s both a good and bad path at the same time. And the decision is yours to make.

If you need help making that decision, or if you need help turning the year around, it’s here at Blue Bell Mental Health.

Nyla thinks chasing a ball is a coping skill that works for anything, and has a theory that squirrels are the cause of every bad thing in this world, but as a sometimes co-therapist, Nyla is excited to welcome you to the office and consult on your treatment… as long as you’re not a squirrel. 🐿️

In my journey as a mental health therapist, I’ve been privileged to work with many people on the Autism Spectrum. In my early days working for an agency, I was assigned clients who were not given a hopeful prognosis… but I didn’t know that.
So when I ran out of interventions, the client and I worked together to establish trust and get to know each other, then figure out goals, and how to get to them.

It was never about what someone couldn’t do, because too many people will tell you what can’t happen for yourself, your child, or your loved one, or they’re afraid to take on a client with so many uncertainties.

For me however, it’s always about what an individual’s goals are, and how we can try to facilitate that together. That’s a philosophy I follow to this day.

If you or someone you know is on the Autism Spectrum, and you feel like you need some help, call Blue Bell Mental Health or check out our website for more information.

Clocks have turned back, days are shorter and darker, and the snow seems like it’s just around the corner. Winter’s definitely here.
If you’re one of the millions of people who suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), or just have trouble motivating in the colder darker months, try practicing some of the techniques the Scandinavians use to survive and thrive living a “Hygge Lifestyle”.

If warm comfort foods and beverages, and learning how to live “Hygge” (pronounced “hoo-gah”) aren’t enough, come see us at Blue Bell Mental Health so together, we can make winter a time to thrive.

Tonight’s game is tough, and in a game 7, anything can happen to alter the outcome. Are you like me, Sadie and Cali, who can’t bear to watch. Or digging in to watch every pitch with Summer in her Bryce Harper Phanatic Green hair band? Maybe you’re Lola wearing her hat backwards in her stunning JT Realmuto impression, or Gabby also wearing a red hair band like her favorite player, Alec Bohm. Either way use your best coping skills to handle the anxiety coming your way, or the depression if it ends the way you don’t want it too.

On this World Mental Health Awareness, The Players Tribune has an awesome collection of stories from true role models, Athletes who’ve admitted their issues, and who’ve shown how vulnerability in seeking health equals strength. From a professional standpoint, these articles have helped several people I’ve worked with come to terms with their own issues, and reduce the stigma associated with seeking assistance for mental health struggles.
Life can be tough, and you don’t have to suffer alone.

Happy Winter Solstice 2022! The light returns to our lives starting tomorrow. Now that doesn’t mean our winter is over, it’s just beginning, but while we’re dealing with the cold and dark here in the Northeast, here are a few tips to make it easier:

1) Get outside! Even in cold weather, getting 10-15 minutes of natural sunshine helps produce vitamin D, which helps you fight cold & flu, and regulates depression.
2) Exercise! Exercise increases your heart rate, boosts endorphins, and helps fight low moods. 3) Social Support! Get together with friends and enjoy the emotional support, relationships and just having fun.
4) Create structure! Get a routine and make room for set-care and social support.

We have a tree full of hearts! The Eastern Redbud that blooms outside our kitchen is a joy all year, from its brilliant pink blossoms in the spring to its green leafy shade in the summer, but it’s only in Autumn when I notice the leaves are shaped like hearts, and I only see them when the tree dies off for winter.

Too often when we face grim and negative situations we don’t realize all the kind hearts there are around us to help us, catch us, or just have a kind word, and remind us of why we matter, but if we slow down, and look around us, we may see them appearing against the seemingly insurmountable problems we face, only then to notice they were here all along.

Blue Bell Mental Health is here for you to support you, catch you, and offer kind words to help you realize you matter to the world. Give us a call at 267-396-6166 to schedule a consultation, or a visit to our office at the Kindle Hill Foundation.

When you look at this clip, do you see beautiful autumn flowers, blooming to add a dash of purple to the otherwise warm fall colors, or do you see weeds on the side of the road?
Both may be true, but sometimes all we see are weeds, when we could see flowers, if we just learned how to reframe the picture.

Blue Bell Mental Health is here to help you re-frame the picture.

At Blue Bell Mental Health, you’ll find support, learn how to see what’s unique and special about yourself, and learn how to reframe the picture you see in front of you, so you can live the life you’ve imagined.
