Sun-Moon trine nebulous and/or spiritually inclined Neptune and foundations building Saturn add to an especially potent initiation of the new monthly cycle, as well as the annual cycle in matters ruled by Leo. Best to put aside enough time on this day, and leading up to it, for serious contemplation. As Neptune-Saturn continue in a world changing conjunction, building up to next year’s exact (on the degree and minute) merging, they activate and energize the start to a whole new era in the larger picture. Mercury the Magican

Mercury retrograde is a most effective time to delve into the deeper and wider meanings, associations, processes of this Traveler Between the Worlds planet. Especially so with the period we’ve just entered taking us into late August when it will re-cross the degree of its pivot “backwards” on July 17.
In The Secret Doctrine by Madame Helena Blavatsky she enigmatically declares: “Mercury is just beginning to get out of a state of obscuraion.” This refers to first planet from the Sun’s enduring mysteries, a far older member of the Solar System than Earth. The “mercurial one” is our home planet’s “elder brother”, one which initiates souls in a human journey into the realm of Magic. We have so much to learn by immersing ourselves in the curiosity and flexibility, as well as conscious expanding experiences of deep throated laughter this planet promotes as we let go of tightly held ego patterns.
The retrogrades of 2025, a year of multiple highly influential shifts, offer amplified support for us through the shape shifting transitions we find ourselves in. The obscurations lifted even further at present promise so much more than our previously indoctrinated minds can imagine; minds in the process of serious de-colonizing as part of the Mercury initiations from now into November.

We’re moving further into the review part of the year where all that’s unfolded so far, especially from mid April through June, requires deeper consideration and investigation in all ways possible. It’s even more crucial for those with planets and points at early degrees of cardinal signs; Aries, Libra, Capricorn, Cancer in terms of letting go of the past and beginning anew in the areas of life where these signs fall in personal charts. Buddhists say life is suffering.Taoists say life is bliss. Seems quite apparent both are true. Saturn-Neptune, representations of the two perspectives, are big players in early Aries along with Chiron-Eris in late Aries. And in particular now with their extraordinary, directed transformational fire fueling the same powerful aspects as on Solstice. At the New Moon 3:32 am on the 25th both these celestial-earthly events already have significance for the season and year ahead. This year they’re amplified as harbingers of more extremes coming up, in personal lives and in the world. We’re in the realm of outermost possibilities both for good and ill, no question about that.
The karmic qualities of this time, collective and individual, where finding our way through the mazes, quagmires and/or sacred labyrinths we’re caught in have become the most crucial tasks. The way ahead must be navigated with intention to endure, trust in our own unique role and what’s offered from sacred tradition and earth-based wisdom. Wednesday’s Jupiter square Neptune is the last of the more extreme aspect impacting us lately with unusual level of challenges to breathe deeply, stay connected to the ground beneath, align with inner wisdom existing at the very core of every being. This passage over the last few days has been a highly significant phase in 2025’s leaps and bounds out of the world we’re familiar with. Ejected into a new wilderness we must navigate one way or another devoid of a template, map or well ordered plan. Most reliable guideposts we find perennially within, as each has a unique and crucial role in this transition.

Wed 18 Sun in Gemini and Moon in Pisces in Last Quarter square around midday generating may questions about where we are now and how we got here as part of this turning point in the monthly cycle. Referring back to New Moon May 26 and Full Moon last week helps to get our land legs in a shifting living field lush with surprises and quagmires. Afternoon Uranian influence enables a different way of looking at things that can help steer in the right direction. Moon enters motivated Aries 4:08 pm proceeding to light fires under us in multiple areas throughout the evening. We’re prone to asserting ourselves where perhaps we haven’t before, or in a new way. Caution is to be self aware while remaining committed to the good of all in every declaration, action, new plan or tactics to get things done. There’ll likely be immediate feedback if not well aligned. Thurs 19 Aries Moon has no exact aspects after 12:57 am sextile with Pluto that may stimulate disturbing and/or profoundly informative dreams. Rest of the day influenced by the approaching Mars in Virgo quincunx Saturn in Aries escalating tensions. Great care advised in avoiding harsh criticisms, of self or others as the temptation for shame and blame are up. However this tightwire can be used productively in examining where we may be too rigid about work or health habits, work relationships or the need to change something about the home or work environment. Also beware any passive aggressive behaviors that can create unnecessary blocks to forward movement.

Fri 20 Summer Solstice arrives in Northern Hemisphere 7:42 pm when Sun enters first degree of Cancer, one of the World Axis degrees representing extraordinary power points in the zodiac wheel. It’s preceded by an afternoon charged up with Moon-Chiron firey collaboration intent on addressing whatever is in sore need of wise and in depth attention, followed by Moon-Sun sextile for accessing the information and most relevant connections required. Moon shifts to earthy Ta**us early evening before the solstice ingress making supportive aspects with Mars and Jupiter into late night. But today’s Mars quincunx Neptune tensions provide a push the next level of adjustments necessary to surrender old shoulds, should’nts and judging others from our own narrow understanding.
The chart for this annual power portal, in Northern Hemisphere an intensification of the light that heals and nurtures us deeply. Reminds us of our place in the wonders of all life of Mother Spaceship Earth. Sun 22 Sun square Saturn has a hard edge to it with pressure to pay attention or else. Whatever needs remaining unaddressed shows up most likely with a certain amount of pain, physical, mental and/or emotional. Saying no to what others want or expect of us that feels like a strain or entirely unappealing is best we can do today. That includes bossy or controlling behaviors on anybody’s part. Mars-Jupiter combine forces though to help discern where to say yes, where to say no, where to stop and where to go. Then late evening Mars and Pluto in a difficult pattern can be mean spirited if someone’s not letting go of rigid or hyper critical behavior. The favorable way to engage this energy is in humility while not accepting disrespectful treatment. Moon has entered Gemini earlier lightening the mood enough to be able to laugh at our own and others’ judgements, fussiness, false beliefs or cluelessness.

Mon 23 Sun’s next square is to Neptune blurring boundaries, challenging perceptions. What delusions do we cling to that must be faced and ideally resolved?
