➡️ From Basement Risk to Main-Floor Safety
Our client faced a serious challenge: after falling down the stairs to her basement laundry room and breaking her foot, the space became unsafe and unmanageable. Something had to change for her to stay safe and independent at home.

We transformed a small, under-used bedroom on the main floor into a fully functional laundry space. The project included:
✅ Relocating the washer & dryer
✅ Re-routing electrical & water
✅ Creating new venting
✅ Drywall + paint
✅ Building & installing IKEA cabinets
Now, laundry is safe, convenient, and accessible. This is a crucial improvement for her daily living.

No project is too big or too small. Our mission is to provide aging adults in the KC Metro with the home safety solutions they need to stay in the homes they love.💙

🌟 Community Connections at the Live Well Event 🌟

A huge thank you to The Parkinson's Exercise and Wellness Center for inviting us to host a vendor table at their Live Well Event this past weekend! 💙

We loved spending the day meeting so many incredible Parkinson’s fighters, their families, and supporters. Your strength and spirit are truly inspiring. We also had the chance to connect with some amazing local professionals and resources, which is such a win for the community and for the clients we serve.

Opportunities like this remind us why we’re so passionate about what we do: providing aging adults in the KC metro with the home safety solutions they need to stay in the homes they love. 🏡❤️

We had an absolute blast teaming up with Tiffany from Assisting Hands Home Care - Lee’s Summit at the Vesper Hall Chiefs Tailgate Party!

Not only did we get to show some Chiefs spirit, but we also got a surprise treat- Karaoke! Let's just say.... Blue Springs has some serious hidden talent!

Events like this remind us why we love what we do, connecting with so many incredible people right here in our community, sharing laughs, stories, and a little about how Secure Spaces helps aging adults stay safe & independent in the homes they love.

Our days may be packed with troubleshooting, plenty of tools, and tough fixes, but every grab bar installed, every light repaired, every small upgrade matters.

🏡Little Fixes. Big Impact.

For one of our recent clients, two small changes made the world of difference:
➡️Their house numbers were nearly invisible against dark siding: making it hard for delivery drivers, visitors, and even emergency responders to locate the home. We upgraded them to larger, reflective metallic numbers for instant visibility.

➡️Their front porch light was broken, leaving the entryway dark at night. We got it working again. This fix improved not only safety, but also reduced potential fall risk.

What feels like a quick fix can truly be life-changing when it comes to safety and peace of mind.

They say you haven’t truly experienced IKEA until you’ve opened a hundred little boxes, found the world’s smallest Allen wrench, and tried to make sense of picture-only instructions.

This was our very first IKEA build, and we have to admit ... the first cabinet was a real head-scratcher. But once we figured out the “IKEA language,” the rest came together surprisingly fast.

Now our client has beautiful new cabinets perfectly fitted around the laundry area, making the space safer, more organized, and easier for her to use every day.

Talk about a transformation!

This kitchen went from dark & dim to light & bright with just two simple updates:
✔️ A fresh coat of white paint on the ceiling (replacing dark tan)
✔️ A new LED light fixture (with a concealed fan in the center to increase airflow!)

It’s not just about looks... brighter spaces mean:
💡 Fewer shadows where trips can happen
💡 Better visibility for daily tasks like cooking or reading
💡 A lighter, more welcoming feel in the heart of the home

Small changes like updated lighting or paint colors can make a big difference in both safety and comfort, especially for aging adults who want to remain independent at home. 🏡💙

It’s National Dog Day and we couldn’t let it pass without celebrating our two boys: Winston & Jinx! 🐾

These cockapoos may be small, but they fill our home with big love, endless laughter, and plenty of “are you sure you’re not human?” moments. 😂

Dogs have such a special way of keeping us company, lifting our spirits, and reminding us to enjoy the little things; something that matters at every stage of life.

Last week we had the opportunity to host a table as part of the New Member Showcase at the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce monthly member lunch. What an incredible opportunity to connect with familiar faces and meet so many passionate local business owners & representatives!

Blue Springs is truly an amazing community: full of people lifting each other up and working hard to make this a great place to live, work, and grow. We’re so thankful to be part of it! 🙌

It’s amazing how something as small as a working outlet can make such a big difference.

We recently helped an aging client who had a few outlets that just wouldn’t work. One in the laundry room and one in the bedroom. We replaced them with safe, fully functional outlets, including a GFCI outlet in the laundry room for extra protection around water.

Now laundry day is easier, plugging in a lamp or charger in the bedroom is a breeze, and there’s peace of mind knowing everything is up to safety standards.

Sometimes it’s not the “big” projects that make life better. It’s the little fixes that keep a home comfortable and safe.
