A HEARTFELT MESSAGE FROM A FORMER RESIDENT ABOUT HIS DRUG ADDICTION
Most of my teenage years have been tainted by bad choices and substance abuse, ending with a life controlling he**in addiction. As
Iโm writing this I have been a round a year and a half clean from everything. Now the question, is how do you first off get clean, and then stay clean? Anybody who has struggled with addiction knows itโs much easier said then done. But, there is an answer to this question, and itโs not as hard as you think. See the problem with these super expensive rehabs in California and Florida where you sit in hot tubs and get massages and smoke ci******es all day, is that youโre trying to clean something that really canโt be cleaned. Your flesh. Romans 6 talks all about sin. And Paul says in this chapter that we should die to the flesh like Christ died for us, and that we should NAIL ourselves to the cross like he did. Now what this means is giving our WHOLE life to Jesus. This isnโt saying just giving the parts to him that you want to give to him. Itโs your whole life. But the great thing is, when you give your whole self to Jesus, and have faith in his word and seek him out, he will completely change your life and rebuild you into a new creation. Almost all of my friends have been in addiction. Some are successfully recovering and have been clean for years. Some are still using. And some have been recovering for a while, but went back to their old ways. The difference I have noticed is their relationship with Jesus. Thatโs the key, and I havenโt seen any exceptions.
2 Corinthians 5:17
