🧺 Wellness Wednesday: Declutter for Peace

A peaceful space can calm the mind. And it doesn’t take a full makeover to make a difference—just one drawer, one shelf, or one cozy corner at a time.

Here’s how to get started:
✅ Choose a small area (a drawer, nightstand, or chair corner)
🕯️ Remove what you don’t need
🌿 Add something that brings you peace—maybe a candle, a favorite photo, a devotional book, or a cozy pillow

🪑 This is your calm corner. A space to breathe. Reflect. Reset.

💬 What’s one thing in your home that brings you peace or comfort?
A special blanket? A soft light? A favorite scripture? Share it with us below—we’d love to know. 💛👇🏾

July is Sarcoma Awareness Month, a time to shine a light on this rare group of cancers that affect bones and soft tissues.

At Hope House, we stand with those facing sarcoma and their families. 💛 Whether you're a survivor, caregiver, or simply learning more today—you matter.

💬 Have you or someone you love been touched by sarcoma or another rare illness?

🌞 Sun Safety Tips for Seniors

Summer is here, and while a little sunshine does the body good, too much UV exposure can be harmful—especially for seniors.

Here are 3 easy ways to protect your skin and stay safe in the sun:
🧴 Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher)
🧢 Wear a hat and light protective clothing
🌳 Seek shade during peak hours (10AM–4PM)

💡 Bonus Tip: Don’t forget sunglasses! UV rays can damage eyes, too.
"Drink Plenty of WATER"

Mental Health Matters: Supporting Our Diverse Communities

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, established in honor of author and advocate Bebe Moore Campbell—a champion for mental health equity in underserved communities.

At Hope House, we’re committed to carrying that mission forward by raising awareness, breaking stigma, and promoting access to compassionate, culturally-informed care. 💚

✨ Mental wellness is just as important as physical health—especially for caregivers, elders, and those navigating chronic illness.

❤️💛💚 Today, we honor Juneteenth — Freedom Day.

On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned that they were free — more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth reminds us of the ongoing journey toward equality, justice, and hope.

✨ At Hope House, we stand in solidarity as we reflect, celebrate resilience, and continue to build a future rooted in freedom and dignity for all.
