Darlene Kay Rigney, lovingly known to everyone as Mammaw, went home to be with Jesus on November 6, 2025, at St. Bernard’s Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas, surrounded by her family. She was 80 years old and a resident of Gosnell Health and Rehab Nursing Home during the last year of her life.

Born in Toledo, Ohio, Darlene was the daughter of Dale Roberts and Gladys Kittrell. She was preceded in death by her father Dale Roberts; stepfather and mother Walter and Gladys Kittrell; brother Kyle Kitt Kittrell; and her precious great-grandson, Oliver Curtis O’Neal.

On October 31, 1960, Darlene married the love of her life, Reverend L.V. Rigney, and together they shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. For more than six decades, she faithfully served as a pastor’s wife—loving, supporting, and encouraging others with grace, strength, and a joyful spirit that made everyone feel at home.

She is survived by her husband, Reverend L.V. Rigney of Blytheville; one son, Danny Rigney and his wife Karyn of Blytheville; and two daughters, Vonda Belford and her husband Curt of Blytheville and Lynn Edge and her husband Kyle of Blytheville.

She was the proud Mammaw of six grandchildren: Bryan Belford and his wife Adria of Blytheville; Blake Belford and his wife Jaclyn of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; Adam Rigney and his wife Katherine of Brookland, Arkansas; Tyler Edge and his wife Beth of Blytheville; Kristen O'Neal and her husband Travis of Brookland, Arkansas; and Abby Rodgers and her husband Caleb of Blytheville. Since 1979, Darlene was a devoted member of Pathway Church of God in Blytheville, where she sang, served, and encouraged countless people through her faith and kindness. She loved nothing more than gathering her family for big home-cooked meals, singing Southern Gospel songs, crocheting, and spending time fishing with her loved ones. Her kitchen table was more than a place to eat—it was a place where laughter, love, and memories were shared for generations.

A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., at Pathway Church of God in Blytheville, Arkansas. Sherrie spent her formative years in the warm embrace of Manila before where she would eventually meet and marry the love of her life, Otto Stephen Boyett. Together, they built a family founded on the principles of love, respect, and joy. Sherrie's legacy lives on through her devoted sons, Otto Keith Boyett (Renee), Stephen Perry Boyett (Shelly) and her cherished grandchildren, Wyatt Boyett, Tucker Boyett (Miranda Henderson), Noah Boyett (Josie Fagundes), Rylee Boyett, Erin Boyett, and Camryn Boyett, who will all remember her as a guiding light and source of endless support.

Sherrie is proceeded in death by her parents, A.J. and Iletha Lewis of Lost Cain, Arkansas, her brother, Wade Lewis of Morrilton, Arkansas and her sister, Joan Gammell of West Plains, Missouri. She is survived by her brothers Steve Lewis of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Gary Lewis of Morrilton, Arkansas.

Professionally, Sherrie excelled as an Executive Secretary, a role in which her wisdom and organizational talents shone brightly. Her colleagues revered her not only for her impeccable work ethic but also for her compassionate nature and ability to make everyone feel valued.

Sherrie's passion extended beyond her professional life into her community, where she was actively involved in her church, East Lake Presbyterian in The Villages, Florida. With a voice as gentle as her demeanor, Sherrie enjoyed singing in the choir, touching the hearts of all who heard her. Her love for music was only matched by her love for her family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she spent countless cherished hours.

An avid gardener, Sherrie had an affinity for flowers, nurturing them with the same tenderness she bestowed upon her family and friends. Sewing was another of Sherrie's talents, through which she crafted not only garments and gifts but also woven memories that her family will hold dear.

Those who knew Sherrie will remember her for the loving, wise, and kind soul she was. Her presence was a comfort, her advice sought after, and her laughter a melody that resonated in the hearts of many. Sherrie's impact on the world was profound, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

As we bid farewell to Sherrie Ann Boyett, let us take solace in the knowledge that her spirit continues to guide us. Her life's story is a beautiful tapestry of devotion, grace, and unwavering love of her savior, Jesus Christ —a story that will be recounted with fondness and admiration by those who were fortunate enough to be a part of it. Sherrie's memory will forever bloom in the gardens she loved so dearly and in the melodies sung in the church where she found so much joy.
