People fill my heart,
but the land holds my soul. 🌿✨

At , I wandered into nature’s classroom
petals soft as lullabies,
soil alive beneath my feet,
cows carrying the ancient gift of nourishment.

Our ancestors knew:
without the land, we have nothing.

(Not sure if I was supposed to wander… but that connection to land really warmed my heart)

Thank you for a wonderful education filled conference 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾

Still catching up on baby posts, but this one is too precious not to share…

Welcome, beautiful Ayvah Rahziyah
Born at home on November 19, 2024 at 7:46 PM

A radiant 5lbs 5oz of pure light ✨

From the very beginning, your parents dreamed of giving you the most gentle, sacred welcome. As first-time parents, they prepared with such love, intention, and care by reading, learning, asking all the right questions, and building the birth team they felt most aligned with.

They didn’t just plan for birth, they envisioned something deeper: a peaceful passage into parenthood. And when the time came, they showed up with open hearts and unwavering trust in the process.

Ayvah, your birth was calm, sacred, and full of softness. You were ushered in with such grace. A reflection of the love your parents have for you. Watching them navigate labor together was a beautiful reminder that even first-time parents can move like seasoned pros when guided by love and faith.
Thank you for letting us be part of your very first chapter. We know these early days have been filled with snuggles, gratitude, and awe.

You are so loved, sweet girl. 💗

PS… they tried to make your mommy believe she could NEVER have a vaginal birth… they lied, were proud… GO MOMMYYYY.

Another Late Post, But This One Deserves a Spotlight 💫

Welcome, sweet DeVon Divine
Born at home on November 16, 2024, still wrapped in your sacred sac, en-caul and covered in grace.
From the moment you arrived, it was clear: you are divine by name and by nature. Your birth was powerful, tender, and soaked in love. You were surrounded by a village that held your mama close as she did the brave, holy work of bringing you earthside. They held her every step of the entire pregnancy. It was beautiful to see how much your mommy is loved.

Your mama, oh, how she questioned her strength. She wrestled with doubt, with fear, with the weight of wondering “Can I really do this?” But when the time came, she reached deep within, found her power, and birthed you at home, unmedicated and unshaken. It was nothing short of inspiring.

Some clients become more than clients — they become family. And that’s exactly what your mama is to us. Being trusted to hold space for her, and now watching you grow, has been one of the greatest honors of our midwifery journey.

DeVon, your life is already sacred. Your story already radiant. And we can’t wait to witness the rest.
With so much love,

—The De la Flor Midwifery Team

🌟 Another Catch-Up Post — Because These Families Deserve Their Shine! 🌟

Welcome to the world, sweet Malachi ✨
Born peacefully at home, surrounded by deep love and intention.

Your birth was nothing short of magical. With solfeggio frequencies playing in the background and a sacred stillness in the air, every moment was divinely aligned. You were created with purpose, and your arrival was a beautiful reflection of that intention.

The first few months of your life were surely filled with love and we can’t stop thinking about how ready your village was for your arrival. Your daddy held your mom so close during the entire process. Your big siblings were the most loving helpers, already wrapped in their roles as your lifelong protectors and playmates.

Serving your family brought our team so much joy and reverence. Mama — a radiant Cancer — moved through labor with softness, power, and a nurturing spirit that made the entire space feel safe and sacred. Watching her bring you into the world was a true honor.

Malachi, little Scorpio star, you were born to shine. And we can’t wait to watch you do just that. 🌙🦂

A glorious 8lbs 13oz of pure love.
Baby Adonis, your birth was more than just a moment, it was a vibe. You arrived to the Dreamgirls soundtrack, with the sounds of laughter, food cooking in the kitchen, and a serious game of Tunk going down in the next room. It was a full-on community celebration before you even took your first breath.
Both sets of grandparents were present, holding space, cooking, praying, and cheering your mama on with unwavering love. Big brother stood tall with pride, and your dad never left your mother’s side.
Your mama labored with such power and grace, her strength lit up the whole house. Watching her bring you into the world was nothing short of breathtaking.

Adonis Eman, you were born into a family that shows up, holds each other close, and makes room for joy even in the most sacred moments. We are so honored to have witnessed it all.

🚨 SAY HER NAME: ADRIANA SMITH 🚨

A DEAD, DECOMPOSING BODY CANNOT GIVE BIRTH.

A DEAD, DECOMPOSING BODY CANNOT GIVE BIRTH.

A DEAD, DECOMPOSING BODY CANNOT GIVE BIRTH.

What was done to Adriana Smith against her family’s wishes is NOT just a violation, it’s medical violence!!
It is inhumane.
It is unconscionable.
It is part of a long evil legacy of using Black bodies for experimentation without consent.

Black women are not test subjects.
Black families deserve respect, autonomy, and dignity.
Adriana deserved peace in her death!!!

We want answers. We want accountability. We NEED change.

Ava got to tag along with Candace and I. It’s been a busy weekend with three labors!!! One baby born and two pending… we also got to do a postpartum visit together. It was special to have my girl tag along.

Grateful that Candace always sneaks pictures because these mean the world to me.

Happy Black Midwives Day!

Today, we honor the legacy of Black midwives past, present, and future who have been the backbone of our communities for generations. From catching babies under the cover of night during enslavement to guiding families through birth today, Black midwives have always been here, protecting, nurturing, and ensuring safe passage into this world.

In a time when medical racism still endangers Black birthing people and their babies, our work is more critical than ever. We are here to reclaim our traditions, to restore trust in physiological birth, and to make homebirth a safe, accessible, and normalized option again. In this political climate, where reproductive autonomy is under attack, midwifery is resistance. It is love in action.

But midwives don’t do this work alone, we thrive with the support of our communities. If you believe in birth justice, if you value the sacredness of birth, stand with us. Uplift midwives, donate to midwifery funds, advocate for policies that protect midwifery care, and remind Black birthing people that they do have options.

Black midwives have always been here. And we always will be.
