The mission of the Big Red Barn Retreat is to restore hope to heroes by facilitating posttraumatic growth, advancing advocacy, and building a supportive community. An Emmy Award–winning journalist and co-anchor of WIS News at 5 and 6, Judi has served the Midlands for nearly three decades as one of South Carolina’s most trusted voices.

“It is truly an honor to join the board of Big Red Barn Retreat,” said Gatson. “As the proud wife of a retired Army officer, I have seen firsthand the sacrifices made by those who serve our country and our communities. What’s the difference between Warrior PATHH and Struggle Well?

Both programs are built on the science of Posttraumatic Growth, but they serve participants in different ways.

Warrior PATHH is a 90-day program with a 5-day residential immersive experience followed by 85 days of virtual integration, while Struggle Well provides group-based training for individuals and organizations. Together, these programs help ensure that active-duty service members, veterans, and first responders have access to meaningful practices, resources, and support.
