After a remarkable career dedicated to caring for kids, Dr. William Schrader, pediatric orthopedic surgeon, is retiring. From residency to retirement, he’s lived by the principles of surrounding himself with good people and treating them well. Researchers at Akron Children’s, Cincinnati Children’s, University of Michigan and Dayton Children’s Hospital have found that hypothermic therapy using the pro2cool® system reduces concussion symptoms in teens by up to 25% compared to standard care.

This study, the largest of its kind, shows that cooling therapy could improve recovery for young athletes. The device is currently under FDA review.
