Update: Although the CDC states you can be tested for corona virus with a doctor’s order there are just not enough tests for everyone. Those with mild symptoms of cough, sore throat, fever, muscle aches, and fatigue will not be tested. The treatment is the same supportive measures: increase fluid intake, get plenty of rest. Quarantine yourself for 14 days. Running to the er or urgent care is not going to get you tested. Locally there are no drive through testing sites.

The tests are limited to those with moderate or severe disease that are in the hospital. If you develop shortness of breath, lethargy, or confusion then it’s time to seek immediate treatment. Please call your doctor if you are concerned or unsure where to go. The reason for calling is for your health professional to assess your symptoms, give you advice to come in or where to go, and to protect their staff and other patients. Please be patient. Consider if you are a healthy patient that is not sick coming to the doctor during this time can be very scary. I know this is difficult and a change from our normal day to day, but this has been difficult for us as well. We are all adjusting to these new guidelines.

Please don’t hesitate to call and stay safe everyone!

As we head into another day wanted to give an update on our office. We are committed to staying open to help our patients through this time. Some changes have been made with the ohio medical board as well as cdc recommendations. Please call us if you are feeling sick. This will allow us to screen you over the phone. If it is felt that you may have the corona virus we will direct you to either stay home and monitor your symptoms or direct you where to go. Please don’t just run to the local emergency room. The state is asking us not to have patients that may be infected in the office. While we know this is an uncertain time, we also have to think about the safety of all our patients and staff working. We are keeping our rooms clean. We may ask you to wear a mask if coughing. If you have a routine visit and want to cancel that is not a problem. We understand that people are scared and we hope to help in anyway we can. Stay safe friends.

I’ve had a lot of patients coming in scared this week about the corona virus.

1. It is important to wash your hands and try to avoid crowds and gatherings if possible. Social distancing is how everyone can help.

2. We are all in this together. The health care leaders are working around the clock to try to make sure everyone is safe and resources are being utilized appropriately.

3. Doctors and Nurses are committed to keeping you safe and healthy. We aren’t going anywhere. We will be there for you.

4. Please turn off the tv, put the newsfeed down and give yourself a break. 24 hour coverage can make people anxious and panic is the last thing we need now.

Any fears or questions don’t hesitate to call the office.

Stay informed. Do not panic. Trust reliable sources from the CDC. Wash your hands. Stay safe friends.
