🇺🇸 Memorial Day | We Remember 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the silent heroes—

Those who stood for freedom
And gave all they had.
Their names echo in our hearts, Their legacy lives in every breath of liberty.

To the families who carry the weight of that sacrifice:
You are not alone.
We remember with you.
We honor with you.

Forever grateful. Forever free.

The leap of faith I took at 65. This year, my husband and I did something “bold.” We left our home of 42 years in Florida to move back to the California coast.

Uprooting at 65 and taking on more instead of less isn’t the script most people follow. But I was able to stand at the edge of that decision without doubt because of the inner work I’ve done for decades.

I’ve learned to feel the difference between fear dressed up as “caution” and genuine, quiet wisdom.
That kind of self-knowledge doesn’t happen in your head—it lives in the body. It surfaces when you move past the noise to the part of you that simply knows.

Join me at Kripalu this summer.

I want to help you find that same clarity. I’m hosting a weeklong immersive retreat at Kripalu with artist Denise Griffin, exploring the Panca Maya Kosas (the five layers of the self). Through movement, breathwork, and watercolor painting, we’ll reconnect with the part of you that can navigate any transition, at any age, with trust.

I founded Connected Warriors at 50. I’m opening my own studio at 65. There is no expiration date on becoming more yourself.

I’d be honored to walk this path with you.

Finding the Unspoken 🌿
Sometimes, the body holds stories that words simply can’t tell. By blending trauma-conscious yoga with the fluid, tactile expression of watercolor, we create space to give those inner layers a “voice.” 🌊🎨

Progress over perfection! ✨

A transcontinental move at our age definitely hits a little differently than it did back in the day! 🧘‍♂️💨 While the studio setup is slightly behind schedule, we are making major strides.

Between managing the main house, hosting two haulers for the “excess stuff” (it’s amazing what we accumulate!), and navigating the construction zones, the vision is finally coming to life.

The studio is currently doubling as a storage unit, but I couldn’t wait to set out these special touches:

🐾 The adorable yoga pugs—a welcome gift from my student and realtor (whose “fault” this beautiful chaos is!). Don’t tell my cats, but these pugs are winning me over! 🤫

🙏 The YSTT gift from our amazing trainees to welcome future students.

Next up: Bamboo flooring! 🎋

I’m stuck on the wall color and would love your thoughts. I’m sticking with Benjamin Moore Ultra Spec (Zero VOC) for a healthy breathing space. Which shade should I go with?

1️⃣ Modified Palladium Blue (Light & Airy)
2️⃣ Lemon Ice (Warm & Sunny)
3️⃣ Light Beach Glass (Zen & Earthy)
Drop a 1, 2, or 3 in the comments to help me build my dream yoga therapy studio! 👇

📍 Road Trip Recap: The Big Move 🚚💨
Who knew you could actually drive for 14.5 hours straight? Well, we did it! 🏆

The Stats:
• ☕️ 2 Starbucks runs (essential)
• 🥪 Homemade almond butter & jelly sandwiches
• 📻 Endless
• 🛣️ 983 miles covered

The Chaos:
The kitties officially started their rebellion at hour 12. Let’s just say having two 20-pound cats treating you like a human bridge while you’re driving is not a safety feature. 🐈‍⬛😬🤣🤬😱

The Destination:
We finally rolled into Half Moon Bay, CA at 8:45 PM Tuesday night, after a quick kitschy tourist stop in Seligman. We’ve been in recovery mode ever since! 💤

The Verdict:
Did some preliminary recon on Wednesda/Thursday and we are SO stoked. Making a life-changing decision mostly long distance is nerve-wracking, but it’s all paying off. 🌊✨

Stay tuned... the real work (aka unloading) begins next week! 📦🛠️

Energy feeds more energy! ✨

Feeling it on this epic journey. As we’ve now moved back in time by two zones—our only limits are clocks and time. ☀️

For someone known to be an early riser, we’ve pivoted. Instead of strict alarms, we travel based on feeling. This photo capture is perfect: the sunrise literally in our rear view. 🚙💨

Fortunately, since we’ve explored the tourist sites before, this leg is pure pictorial joy and memories. 📸✨

Another record day in the books: 856 miles covered! And a real discovery: after decades of caffeine-induced migraines, my tolerance for Chai Lattes has returned (all hail they are everywhere!), and maybe coffee isn’t too far behind. ☕✨

I attribute this to an evolved way of looking at health—energy medicine. Going back in time to move forward. Big love for gene therapy—check out Dirty Genes by 🧬💓

All photos by moi. Do you think that car could carry more bikes? 🚲🤣

My dad had a saying: “You can always tell when a horse is headed back to the barn—there’s just no stopping them.” 🐎💨 and it’s the Year of the Fire Horse.

This journey feels exactly like that. We originally planned a conservative 450-mile-a-day pace to make the trip last a week. Clearly, the “barn” is calling!

After pushing through 556 miles to Macon on Day 1 and a massive 716 miles to Fort Smith, Arkansas on Day 2, we’re officially ahead of schedule. 📍

Since we’ve done the cross-country haul numerous times, we opted for I-40 this time around. The scenery has been incredible, mostly tracing the path of Historic Route 66. 🛣️✨

The best part? The kitties are absolute travel champs. 🐱💤

🚛 The Art & Science of the Move
Moving is so much more than just packing boxes—it’s a high-stakes game of physics, geometry, and pure brute strength. 🧠💪

We were incredibly blessed to have Denard as our Driver and Billy as our Loader. The ability to walk into a 2,500 sq. ft. home on a 9,000 sq. ft. lot—filled with 46 years of memories and life—and fit it all perfectly into an 18-wheeler in less than two days is nothing short of miraculous! ✨📦

If you’re looking for a reputable short or long-haul mover, we can’t recommend Beltman Moving Company (part of North American Van Lines) enough. They are veteran-owned and true professionals. Plus, they gave us the best price around for moving our car in an enclosed trailer! 🏎️💨

Stay tuned—I’ll keep you posted on the unpacking side next week once we settle into the new house! 🏠🔑

Next Chapter: The Harvest 🌾
They say you reap what you sow. After 20 years of cultivating a life in South Florida, I’m realizing the “harvest” isn’t just the result—it’s the grit and hard-won wisdom that came from the work. 🛠️✨

I’m spending my first full day traveling west, finally finding the stillness to reflect on the gravity of this shift. 🏔️ This wasn’t just a season; it was an education.

To the extraordinary women who challenged me, held me up, and grew alongside me: you were the soil and the sunshine.
☀️ You taught me that community isn’t found; it’s built, day by day. 🤝

I’m leaving a garden I know to start digging into new, unfamiliar soil. It’s kinda scary to start over, but I’m ready to apply everything I’ve learned to this new terrain.🪴🍊 ⚒️ 🌸

The landscape is shifting, but the work continues. Stay tuned. 🛣️💨

My Hardest Goodbye. 🙏✨

The most difficult class to say goodbye to was the one where my heart and soul truly reside: . ❤️🩹🎖️✨
Even a week later, the emotions are still right at the surface. You really learn exactly where your passion lives the moment you have to step away. Stepping away from this class was an emotional milestone and a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.

I am so incredibly proud of this community. I’m looking forward to the future of this organization as it continues to evolve and support our military servicemembers, veterans, first responders, and their families in even bigger ways. 🇺🇸

The journey doesn’t end here—it’s just changing shape. Thank you for supporting those who serve. More to come! 🗣️🙌 Stay tuned. 👣
