The Perseid meteor shower is one of the most popular and spectacular meteor showers of the year. It peaks around August 12th in the 13th and is caused by the Earth passing through the debris trail left behind by the Swift-Tutle comet. The constellation Perseus is associated with this meteor shower. It's a northern hemisphere constellation named after the hero Perseus from Greek Mythology.

According to the legend, Perseus, a demi-god and son of Zeus and Danae, who was a mortal woman, beheaded by Medusa, the snake-haired vixen, and saved Andromeda, a princess chained to a rock as a sacrifice to the sea monster.

Medusa was a monster in Greek mythology with a mane of serpents and whose gaze would turn mortals into stone. She was once a maiden but was transformed into a monster by the goddess Athena after being seduced by Poseidon.

Stop wasting time with all the craziness going on in the world today and get outside, look up, follow the moon, follow the planets, educate yourself upward and marvel at what lies above!

The fixed star, Spica, is currently conjunct the Moon. Positioned in the constellation of Virgo, Spica is a symbol of growth, intellect, success, personal development and scholarly potential. When she is with the Moon she can bless one with gain through inventions, success wealth and honor from Mercury, Venus or Jupiter people. When aligned with the Moon emotional intelligence may be your forte! This is a star that encourages you to grow and pursue perfection.

Spica is currently visible in the night sky. She is literally located 250 light years away from Earth and is one of the key stars used in celestial navigation.

The sky theater is so much more interesting than anything happening in this crazy world right now. Step outside once the sun goes down and the Moon appears and be interested in the planets you can see, the constellations, the milky way. There is so much to see up there and it's all so lovely.

This morning, at 3:48 a.m., the planet, Uranus, moved into the sign of Gemini. There is a lot to be said when a planet changes signs and Uranus's ingress into airy Gemini will initiate immense change.

Gemini is a mutable air sign ruled by Mercury, and adapts by using its intellect, curiosity and communication skills. Gemini is all about connectivity at an intellectual, mental and verbal level. Uranus is going to shake up and wake up this area in our lives through thought, brain patterns, speech and movement.

Uranus has a vertical equator and 28 moons. He brings change and change can appear suddenly as chaos, disorder, drama, upset. But He can also bring innovation, he can be original and exciting, independent. He loves freedom and can be quite rebellious in order to achieve it and he craves excitement and loathes boredom.

Uranus loves being in Gemini and intends to revolutionize the world through technology and movement of the brain. This will be seen in many ways like high tech and in medicine. We may see breakthroughs in conditions and illnesses of the mind like epilepsy and strokes.

Uranus moves through a sign for approximately 7 years and when a planet first splashes into a new sign is when we see the biggest shifts. You can expect to wake up through easier systems of communication leaving old patterns behind and suddenly and unexpectedly plunging ahead in a completely new era.

Change can be disruptive, but ultimately it is inevitable. Get ready to welcome Uranus very quickly and unexpectedly right through your front door!

Ah the Summer Solstice.... the longest day of the year, shortest night of the year...it marks the first day or beginning of summer in the northern hemisphere and will appear at 10:42 pm. on June 20th, 2025 this year. Astrologically, the summer solstice happens when the Sun officially moves into the sign of Cancer. Cancer is a water sign, a nurturing, care giving sign that radiates warmth, security and love. Cancer is associated with home, emotions, intuition and nurturing. It is a sign which encourages us to reflect, reset and nurture what really matters.

This year, Jupiter, recently having moved into Cancer, the place where he exalts, is present as the Sun moves into the sign of Cancer making a beautiful conjunction or blending of the Sun and Jupiter, also known as cazimi. At the same time the Moon moves into Ta**us, her happy place, her domicile, and sextiles this Sun/Jupiter cazimi. In astrology a sextile is a gentile, helpful influence in the sky.

Take this time to relax, love and nurture yourself and all those you love showering them with the light of the planets' energies. This is a time of celebration, new vibrations, renewed spirit and glow.

Full Moon tonight at around 8:24 pm....

As the Moon waxes full in Libra on 12 April 2025, the cosmic stage is set for a powerful unfolding of relationship themes, mirrored reflection, and a deep yearning for harmony. Libra, the archetype of balance and beauty, seeks fairness and connection, but this lunation is anything but gentle. With the Sun in fiery Aries and the Moon in airy Libra, we are pulled between self and other, action and consideration. Mars in Cancer, square to both luminaries, adds an emotional intensity, stirring passions that may not sit easily in Libra’s peaceful court. Yet Venus, ruler of this Full Moon, moves direct through Pisces and offers a gentle, redemptive trine to Mars—suggesting that with compassion and open-heartedness, even stormy waters can be soothed.
During this time, it’s wise to avoid reactive behaviour, especially in close relationships. Just for today I will show compassion to myself and others.."

These are the Reiki precepts or principles that speak of the importance of living one day at a time and reminds us to live each day in the present moment. These precepts originate from the practice of Reiki which is a holistic healing practice that channels universal life force energy, chi, to promote physical, emotional and spiritual well being. But these are basically wonderful mantras to follow for anyone and not just for Reiki practitioners.

ANGER is a natural human feeling that can be channeled into something beneficial. Introspect on the cause of your anger and it will help you feel the anger less. When feeling highly stressed in an environment that may trigger you, repeat the anger mantra to bring you back to your center and properly direct that emotion is a better received way.

Daily life can be filled with all sorts of things to WORRY about. This will stunt our personal growth or our general, physical or emotional health. This mantra reminds us to focus on self care. The worry mantra is a perfect way to start your day during morning meditations or in stillness.

It is always best to start your day feeling GRATEFUL and appreciate all that you have instead of focusing on what you don't have. We all have desires and dreams for our future and it can bring us down when our plans don't go our way. This mantra is perfect for moments of disappointment or where you feel failure or over come by upset.

We are all influenced by some degree with the dictates of modern society. WORKING honestly, with the best intention will serve to create an inner atmosphere of being honest and authentic. Living your own truth will add meaning to your work. Repeat the work mantra introspectively to bring you back to your true feelings about your work.

Showing COMPASSION and being KIND to yourself, others and all living creatures creates the best karma and the principle that whatever we put out into the world comes back to us ten times. If you are unkind to someone or something you will not receive kindness back from the universe and in fact, you will receive the opposite.

Practicing these important precepts daily can have a powerful impact emotionally and spiritually, help to remove negative emotions like anger and fear and replace them with feelings of peace, love and gratitude all of which is so desperately needed in our world today.

In my own spiritual practice aligned with astrology, I follow the moon and each time she enters a new sign (every 2-2 1/2 days), I set an intention and meditate in the early morning hours just before sunrise on these wonderful precepts and my day begins in peace.

Today at approximately 9:10 pm (EST) Venus and the Sun will meld into one sphere of light and love. Venus, in her retrograde backs up and spoons the Sun filling her with his light and empowering her all her venutian qualities of love, comfort, heat, harmony, friendship, beauty, art and all the things that Venus represents.

The entire day will be a built on a culmination of these energies. It is a perfect time to be mindful of what you are feeling inside and all around you. You may feel loved and beautiful, kind, diplomatic and more attractive. You my radiate this powerful love (more powerful especially this is happening in the sign of Aries) and light to your partner and all those you come in contact with, pets included. You may feel drawn to art and music. You might find money hiding in spots you forgot to look at. You may receive an unexpected gift or you may gift someone who you never thought to gift.

Venus is connected to beauty, harmony, pleasure, tranquility, relaxation, indulgence. She is the most relaxed of all the planets. She is one of the benefic planets with an air of grace and harmonizing influence. She is known for her connection to relationships and she is all about how we express energies of love and appreciation. Be aware, though, in the sign of Aries she has more yang energy and can be more possessive and willful and more self protective.

"Galileo) Galileo, (Galileo) Galileo, Galileo figaro, magnifico..." - Freddie Mercury and Queen -

On February 16, 1564, in the city of Pisa, Italy, Galileo Galilei was born to a musical practitioner and theorist and daughter of a prominent merchant. He would later become known as not only one of the founders of modern science, but to astrologers and astronomers he is our Hero, our idol, our champion of the heavenly sky.

In the summer of 1609 Galileo builds his first telescope and in the Fall he begins to observe the heavens with the telescope where he begins to make various discoveries. He discovered "mountains on the moon, satellites of Jupiter, new fixed stars and the stellar composition of the Milky Way and nebulas." In the summer of 1610 Galileo observes Saturn as "three-bodied" a puzzle that was only solved after his death when better observations showed Saturn to have 3 rings. In the Fall of 1610, Galileo observes the phases of Venus.

His telescopic discoveries that began in 1609 led Galileo into astronomical research and discussions. As a result, Galileo became a celebrity resigned his professorship at the renowned Padua and was appointed Philosopher and Chief Mathematician to the grand duke of Tuscany and moved into Florence the same year. Soon after he also discovered sunspots. His telescope implied a revolution in in astronomy insofar as it was a new instrument that enable the gathering of a new kind of data and providing some new supporting observational evidence.

The depth of Galileo's studies and philosophical range of the planetary beings in the sky is deserving of our forever dedication, praise and gratitude. Thank you, Sir, for your remarkable service.
