Isn’t it interesting reflecting on the road life takes you? When I quit booze, I didn’t know many others living the same way. I spent that first year hibernating with my partner Jonas (who also quit), focusing on self-discovery and figuring out this new way of life. Spin class became my community, where I cried, released frustration, and healed alongside people who had no idea I was newly booze-free.

When COVID hit and the film industry shut down, I filled time by writing and created a page on this app without any idea of what would follow. I never expected to connect so deeply with others on similar paths, let alone meet them in real life. What a world the “IG Sober” community was and still is! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a few wonderful humans in person now and it’s really truly a one of my favourite things to do.

It’s amazing how one decision can change the trajectory of your life, opening (and closing) doors and introducing you to people you may never have met otherwise.

My heart is so full and grateful for my time IRL with and her fam 💛 already looking forward to the next!!

Small beginnings often arrive quietly, without certainty or applause. They show up as a pause before reacting, a softer choice when survival taught you to harden, a moment where you listen to yourself instead of abandoning your needs. These shifts may feel insignificant, but they are where your life begins to realign with who you are becoming.

Trust what feels gentle and true, even when it scares you. The path that honors your nervous system, your values, and your healing is not small at all. It is the foundation of a life that finally feels like home.

Let the quiet changes lead you.

Happy 2026 and Dry January to those who celebrate! 🥳

I’ve been thinking about my goals on this app lately. I originally built this space to connect with likeminded people on sober or sober-curious journeys, and it’s sooo great to say that it worked as I writing this on my way to meet a sober friend IRL for the first time (eek!)

This year marks 7 years since my last boozy bev which is wild and something I’m so proud of. Sobriety has felt like a way of life for a long time now. Alcohol has lost its pull completely, and sharing my story about not drinking feels different, which is why I’ve been a bit quieter here. As I transitioned into a new career, I paused coaching and closed my blog, and for now that feels right.

We hear a lot about the early days of quitting (the first weeks and months) but what about years later? Removing mind-altering substances forces us to move through life fully present, processing emotions in real time, and in doing so creates space for change in relationships, career, values, and who we’re becoming (or figuring out who we already are!)

My passion for health and wellness, exploring new places, giggles over non-alc bevs, and enjoying the present day is at an all-time high. Maybe I’ll share more of that—sprinkled in with some vintage and resale shopping, because I love that too (anyone else??)

I’m writing this caffeinated and waiting to board so if you’re still here reading, thank you! I appreciate you and I hope you have an incredible year! To those taking a break this Dry January—you got this!!!

Vulnerability is not weakness. It is the moment you stop performing strength and start living it. It is choosing honesty over approval, truth over comfort, and allowing yourself to be seen without editing the parts that feel tender or unfinished.

So many people learned to survive by hiding, by polishing pain into something palatable, by pretending they were fine long before they were healed. But vulnerability is where masks fall away, where connection becomes real, and where the version of you that no longer needs to prove anything finally gets to breathe.

This is where real strength begins, when you let yourself be human instead of perfect.

I never properly expressed my love for Quebec so here’s a compilation of some of my favourite spots along the way last month 💙🤍 Can’t wait to go back and explore Quebec City which we didn’t make this trip.

Have you been? Where are your fave spots?

For the passionate souls who care about other humans, care deeply about the work they do, want everyone to experience joy, love, peace, and well-being, to be treated equally, and care about the future of our planet, among many other things:

A little reminder: you care so deeply because it matters to you. It’s important. Caring may even be part of your purpose.

The universe presents challenges, and sometimes big emotions, because it knows you care and that you’re capable of making a difference. Because you already are.

Keep going with that full heart of yours. ♥️
