We are excited to highlight Licensed Psychologist Dr. Laura Ellick, Ph.D., CCTP, CIP, who has joined our team as the leader of our Concierge Eating Disorder Program and has also completed formal intervention training, participating in numerous interventions.

Alongside Amanda Marino, CIP, Certified Intervention Professional, also seen as an intervention professional on A&E’s Intervention and Digital Addiction and founder of Next Level Recovery Associates, Dr. Ellick now serves as one of our lead Interventionists, offering a concierge, clinically informed approach to some of the most complex situations families face.

At Next Level, these family meetings aren’t about forcing treatment, they’re compassionate, structured conversations where loved ones, professionals, and key supporters come together to gain clarity, explore options, and find the right next step. Not every family meeting leads to treatment, and it isn’t meant to.

Together, Amanda and Dr. Ellick provide intervention, family meetings, and long-term support for:

→ Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and co-occurring mental health conditions
→ Eating Disorders (ED) and body image struggles
→ Hoarding, digital addiction, and other process addictions
→ Life transitions and patterns that keep people stuck, including major career changes, lost careers in entertainment, transitions for professional athletes, and “failure to launch.”

In collaboration with our broader team, Sarah, RN, manages the behind-the-scenes clinical and logistical details, while Clinical Psychologist Dr. Huttman supports families before, during, and after family meetings to sustain progress over time.

If you’re wondering whether it might be time for a family meeting or intervention, reach out to our team or visit our website to learn more: https://www.nextlevelrecoveryassociates.com

Childhood trauma leaves deep marks, but healing is possible, and no one should have to navigate it alone.

At Next Level Recovery Associates, we recognize how early experiences like abuse, bullying, or exposure to violence can shape brain development, increase vulnerability to PTSD, anxiety, depression, and drive patterns of substance use later in life. More than 70% of adolescents in addiction treatment report a history of early trauma, and 1 in 4 children will experience at least one traumatic event before age 16.

Our team provides individualized, trauma-informed support that meets clients where they are honoring their story, rebuilding safety, and supporting sustainable recovery in real life. If you or someone you love has been impacted by childhood trauma and is struggling with mental health or addiction, you are not alone and help is available.

In a world that measures success by performance and perfection, many high achievers live with silent struggles.

At Next Level, we understand that pain doesn’t discriminate. From the person living under a bridge to those gracing magazine covers or leading global companies, everyone is going through something.

In this conversation, Amanda Marino, Behavioral Health Consultant and Interventionist and Dr. Laura Ellick, Licensed Psychologist, explore the hidden battles faced by those in high-visibility professions, entertainers, athletes, and executives, where the stakes are high and the margin for emotion feels small.

The pressure to perform can make it difficult to reach out for help. That’s why we prioritize discretion, compassion, and trust when working with clients navigating life in the public eye.

Because behind every title, paycheck, and spotlight is a human being one who deserves safety, understanding, and support.

Tonight’s choice is bigger than one drink.

It’s about your sleep, your self-respect, your promises to yourself, and the future you’re building in recovery.

Saying “no” to alcohol is saying “yes” to clear mornings, real memories, meaningful conversations, and the quiet pride of knowing you had your own back.

You’re not just skipping a drink, you’re breaking a pattern and choosing the version of you that feels strong, steady, and genuinely proud.

If you’re struggling with that choice, you don’t have to do it alone. Support, structure, and recovery & wellness associates can make all the difference.

Start the new year with more than resolutions, start it with real support by your side.

Sober companions come in many forms to meet you exactly where you are in your recovery journey. Short-term companions can support you through high-risk windows like early sobriety, transitions home from treatment, or particularly challenging life events and seasons. Long-term recovery associates provide ongoing, day-to-day structure, accountability, and encouragement as you rebuild your life and routines in alignment with your values.

There are also specialized sober travel companions who can accompany you on business trips, vacations, relocations, or family events, helping you navigate triggers, maintain your recovery plan, and stay grounded no matter where you are. Each option is designed to keep you connected, supported, and confident, instead of trying to do it all alone.

If you’re thinking, “This year has to be different,” consider adding a sober companion to your support system as you move into the new year. With personalized, one-on-one guidance, you don’t just set intentions, you have someone walking beside you to help you follow through.

Start your next chapter with structure, accountability, and compassionate support.

At Next Level Recovery Associates, we know there is no single formula for healing. This week, psychologist and special guest Dr. Laura Ellick reminds us that recovery isn’t about following a rigid checklist, it’s about finding what truly works for you.

Many individuals feel discouraged when traditional paths don’t fit their needs. As Dr. Ellick shares, forcing someone into a prescribed structure, specific meetings, facilities, or routines, can actually hinder progress and lead to unnecessary shame or self-blame.

Recovery is deeply personal. For some, group meetings provide connection and accountability. For others, individualized coaching, therapy, or in-home support creates the right foundation. The key is honoring each person’s unique background, pace, and goals.

At Next Level, our team believes in meeting clients where they are empowering them to define their own journey toward lasting recovery.

Sobriety is a gift you give yourself, and everyone who loves you. This season is a powerful reminder of just how far you’ve come.

Whether this is your first sober holiday or one of many, every clear-minded morning, every boundary honored, and every trigger navigated is a win worth celebrating. You’re not “missing out,” you’re showing up fully for your life, present, grounded, and real.

If you’re feeling wobbly, remember: you’ve already proven you can do hard things.

Reach out, lean on your support system, and keep choosing the version of you that feels aligned, healthy, and free. Your future self is already thankful for the choices you’re making today.

The holidays can be beautiful when you’re in recovery. This time of year, your sobriety support system matters more than ever.

→ Why support matters now

Holiday parties, family dynamics, travel, and unstructured time can all increase stress, cravings, and exposure to high-risk situations for those in recovery. A strong, intentional support system can provide stability, accountability, and calm in the middle of the chaos.

→How sober companions help

Sober companions offer one-on-one support in real life, walking beside you through events, travel, and day-to-day routines so you don’t have to white-knuckle it alone. They help you navigate triggers, maintain structure, and stay aligned with your recovery goals while still showing up for the moments that matter.

→Support on your terms

At Next Level Recovery Associates, sober companions provide discreet, personalized support tailored to your lifestyle, schedule, and treatment team. Whether you need short-term help through the holidays or ongoing guidance, you deserve a safety net that meets you where you are.

If this season feels overwhelming, you don’t have to wait for things to get worse, reach out and strengthen your support now.

Non-judgmental care hits different when it comes from someone who’s been there and found a way through.

In Ep. 35 of “From Mayhem to Mindset” with Dr. Laura Ellick, Managing Partner Sarah Frias dives into why individualized care for substance use and eating disorders matters, how art therapy helps clients rewrite their story, and why your creativity doesn’t have to “make sense” to be yours.

From redefining what it means to be an “artist” to inviting more men into the healing power of art therapy, this conversation is all about real, compassionate, no-judgment support.
