Spending a week in Colorado—Cherry Creek, Boulder, and Colorado Springs! I’m looking forward to reconnecting with good friends and colleagues and meeting new faces at the Lawyer Assistance Program conference. There’s something special about being here, and I always seem to leave feeling like a better person than when I arrived.
I’m also excited to share news of my new role at J. Flowers Health Institute and the world-class work we’re doing in the field of comprehensive mental health, diagnostics, and treatment.
Feel free to reach out anytime this week at 202-390-2273 or shoot me an email at marc@jflowershealth.com

Staying the course, even when it feels like progress is slow, is where real change happens. It’s not about instant results but about showing up day after day, trusting that the work you put in will pay off. The journey may be tough, but persistence always yields dividends.
Jonathan Maxson is someone who embodies this perfectly — his dedication to helping others navigate addiction and mental health is proof that staying committed makes all the difference. His work is a reminder that transformation takes time, but it’s worth every step.

After years of mostly a text and social media relationship, Robert L. Johnson and I finally got to connect in person over several cups of coffee ☕️. It was great learning more about The Dorm DC and sharing the incredible work we’re doing at J Flowers.

I can help! If you or someone you care about is struggling with mental health challenges, addiction, trauma, or chronic pain, I’m here to help. For years, I’ve guided individuals and their families toward effective solutions for a wide range of mental health issues. I can do the same for you.
One of the perks of my job is whisking 🛩️ off to awesome spots, hanging out with people who make a real difference, like David Gulden, LMHC, interventionist and drinking good coffee ☕️ which by the way is four shots of espresso with light water.

After a challenging year, I’ve embraced two new mottos: “hard work, grace, and gratitude,” and “only good people.” Standing here with Graham Doerge, who embodies both principles.

Someone asked me yesterday why I chose to join J. Flowers Health Institute, and the answer is simple: culture. During my recent visit to the Institute, I had a firsthand look at how a positive culture leads to extraordinary client care. Even as a first-time observer, it was clear that the team takes immense pride in being part of this unique organization. I’m truly grateful to be a member of the J. Flowers family and look forward to contributing positively to this exceptional environment.

This is a post from a couple of years ago, but it holds up. There is an art to keeping your kid from leaving treatment early without causing a world war. Having a good interventionist on your side can make all the difference. Need to know more, contact me at (202) 390-2273 or visit South Florida Intervention

Welcome to South Florida Intervention. You’re here because someone you care about is suffering from the life-threatening disease of addiction, and you have tried everything to get them to stop, with no success. You have watched in horror as their life continues getting worse; lost jobs, failing school, run-ins with the police, declining health, trips to the emergency room and even infidelity. In an effort to make them stop using, you have threatened them with divorce or to lock them out; you have tried negotiating in hopes sound reasoning would curb their behavior; you have even attempted manipulation, but still, they persist. Worst of all, you blame yourself for their drinking and drugging.
This story is not unique to your family; many families have been destroyed by addiction. It’s never too late to get help; recovery is possible for anyone at anytime. I have witnessed miraculous events in the midst of the bleakest circumstances. I have seen families overcome this seemingly hopeless situation if they are willing to accept help.
Intervention or intervening on an addict or alcoholic is a caring and potentially life-saving event. With the guidance of a trained professional interventionist, interventions can be a successful way of getting your family member into the appropriate treatment program for their individual situation.
Today the danger of drug addiction is much more serious and often times fatal as a result of synthetic drugs like fentanyl and he**in hitting the streets. The occurrences of fatal overdose or fatalities from fentanyl-laced ma*****na are epidemic.
