From 2015 to 2021, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) received 18,559 reports of work-related amputations. In severe bleeding scenarios, especially those common in construction accidents, tourniquets are vital. OSHA recommends their use when direct pressure fails to control severe limb bleeding.
