Our experienced teachers work with children from preschool through elementary school, helping them build strong reading foundations with patience, skill, and enthusiasm. Our Orton-Gillingham trained tutors are skilled in supporting struggling readers, early learners, and children who benefit from structured literacy instruction.

Tutors can go to your child's school, or a preferred location, and offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.

Financial assistance is available to ensure all children can access high-quality reading support. See comments for more information!

Rebuilding confidence. Reclaiming independence. Rediscovering your strength.

Join us for a series of three supportive workshops designed to help survivors of domestic abuse prepare emotionally and professionally for their return‑to‑work journey.

These sessions offer a safe, encouraging space to build readiness, gain practical tools, and connect with others who understand the path forward. If you or someone you know is ready to take the next step, we’d love to welcome you.
These workshops are proudly presented by: Jewish Women International, Jewish Community Service of South Florida, Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS), and Ferd & Gladys Alpert Jewish Family Services of Palm Beach County.

Join us for the Jacobson Family Food Pantry’s "Spring Shelf Shuffle". This is the perfect time to clear out your pantry, make room for fresh items, and put your unused non‑perishables to good use.

We’re inviting our community to donate any unopened, in‑date pantry items, along with unopened cleaning supplies and hygiene products.
Your spring cleaning can help fill the shelves for families who rely on the pantry. A small effort on your end can make a real difference for someone else.

If you’re refreshing your kitchen, please consider sending those extra items our way!
*Unfortunately, we cannot accept meat products, items that are in glass jars or expired.

Thank you for supporting the Spring Shelf Shuffle and helping us keep our community fed and cared for.

April is Autism Awareness Month, and at Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) we remain committed to supporting individuals with autism and their families through a wide range of services offered through the Toby & Leon Cooperman Center for Families & Children.

Our Disability Inclusion Services provide counseling for individuals and families, support groups for parents, caregivers, siblings and grandparents, psychiatric services, and psychological testing. We also offer food and financial assistance, including emergency support, access to the Jacobson Family Food Pantry, and summer camp scholarships.

Therapeutic services include ABA therapy, as well as speech, occupational and physical therapies. Families can also access adaptive equipment, supportive shadows, respite care, and a respite care training program for those who work with individuals with disabilities.

This month and every month, we stand with families seeking understanding, resources and community.

As we look ahead, it’s a good moment to remember what holds our community together—care, dignity, and showing up for one another.

Many of us are fortunate to have stability, and that makes it even more important to support neighbors who may be facing uncertainty.

Right now, the Jacobson Family Food Pantry is experiencing an incredible surge in demand. More families than ever are turning to the pantry not just for occasional help, but for the everyday meals. For many of our friends and neighbors, this support has become essential.

You can make a real difference.

Whether you donate food or funds, your contribution goes directly to households counting on the pantry to keep their kitchens stocked and their families nourished. Together, we can ensure no one in our community has to face hunger alone.

Summer camp scholarship applications are now available!

This program helps families give their children a safe, enjoyable, and memorable summer while parents are able to continue working. Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) extends its appreciation to Senator Tina Polsky and State Representative Debra Tendrich for securing this funding on behalf of local families. Their commitment makes it possible for children to enjoy enriching summer experiences and for parents to feel supported.

Marina Lupu, our Front Office Manager and Fiscal Grant Specialist, is being recognized as Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Service (JFS) Employee of the Month for April 2026.

Marina is an amazing team member and an integral part of our JFS staff. Her can-do attitude, amazing talent, dedication, and hard work are what makes her an awesome JFS team member, and we are grateful to have her as part of the JFS team!

Please join me in congratulating Marina on this well-deserved recognition. We so appreciate all you do for JFS, enjoy the parking space!

What keeps me motivated each day is my team and the mission we share. Their smiles, their energy, and the sense that even small tasks can make a real difference gives me a strong sense of responsibility. Sometimes the help we offer may seem simple, but for the person receiving it, it can be everything.

Something people are often surprised to learn about me is that I discovered my Jewish roots when I was 20, and it sparked a deep sense of connection that continues to shape my life.

Another meaningful chapter for me was in 2015, after the earthquake in Nepal. I organized a Facebook initiative to collect small gift bags for children affected by the disaster—260 “boxes of happiness” filled with treats and letters from our own kids. The group is still active today, a little reminder of what people can accomplish together.

These experiences—personal and professional—are what make this work feel so natural to me. They’re why I care so deeply about what we do at JFS and the people we serve.
