LASIK vs EVO ICL: What's the difference?

Both are proven vision correction procedures. But they work differently, and one might be better for YOU.

EVO ICL is often our top choice for patients with prescriptions of -3.00 or worse:
✔️ It’s like an implantable contact lens — reversible, safe, and effective
✔️ It avoids LASIK’s unwanted side effects like dry eye and glare
✔️ And if needed, it can be removed later, which allows for a better result after cataract surgery later in life

LASIK is a safe procedure that has been around for decades. But it's not the only option—and for many patients, it's not the best option.

I recommend EVO ICL when: • A patient is considering LASIK or another form of refractive surgery • Prescriptions are -3.00 or worse • Corneal thickness is insufficient for LASIK • Patients have dry eye issues (EVO ICL doesn't affect tear film) • Night vision quality is a priority • Reversibility is important to the patient

How EVO ICL works: A lens is placed inside your eye, your cornea remains completely intact. The procedure takes 20-30 minutes, recovery is quick, and results are often exceptional.

The result? Clear vision without glasses or contacts. For many patients who weren't LASIK candidates, EVO ICL is life-changing.
