Honoring Women and Mothers on International Women’s Day
Today, on International Women’s Day, we take a moment to recognize and appreciate the incredible women who shape our world. From the boardroom to the classroom, from the frontlines of activism to the quiet, unseen sacrifices made at home—women are the backbone of our communities, the driving force of progress, and the nurturers of future generations.
But today, I especially want to honor the women who take on one of the most demanding and selfless roles of all—mothers.
A mother is more than a parent—she is a teacher, a healer, a protector, a provider, and a guiding light. She wears countless hats, balancing the responsibilities of raising a family while also contributing to society in so many ways. She is the heart of the home, yet her impact extends far beyond it.
I know this because I was raised by an extraordinary woman—my mother, my role model. She taught me kindness, resilience, and the power of unconditional love. She instilled in me the values that I carry to this day—values that have guided me through every success and every challenge. Through Forgotten Mom, I have had the privilege of witnessing the strength and sacrifices of so many incredible mothers who, despite life’s hardships, continue to give selflessly to their children and communities.
On this day, let us celebrate all women—their achievements, their struggles, their contributions, and their unwavering strength. And let us especially honor the mothers who shape the world through the love and wisdom they pass on to the next generation.
To every woman: You are seen, you are valued, and you are deeply appreciated.
To every mother: You are the foundation upon which lives are built, and today, we thank you.
Happy International Women’s Day!
With gratitude,
Farid Dallal
