Jordan Greene is a college freshman with ADHD, an author, motivational speaker, and an advocate for individuals with LD and ADHD. In middle school, Jordan saw the bullying she and her classmates with LD or ADHD faced, and decided to do something about it. Self-advocacy is being able to speak up for your needs and what's important to you and to be able to communicate them. Students must understand their strengths and weaknesses/needs While often these accommodations are included in an IEP or 504 plan, teaching students how to self-advocate is an important life skill and a step toward building independence.
