I am pleased to announce that I am a Certified Trauma Centered Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator.
What is TCTSY?TCTSY is an empirically validated, clinical intervention forcomplex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumaticstress disorder (PTSD).Although TCTSY employs physical forms and movements, theemphasis is not on the external expression or appearance (i.e.doing it"right"), or receiving the approval of an external authority.Rather, the focus is on the internal experience of the participant. This shift in orientation, from the external to the internal, is a keyattribute of TCTSY as a complementary treatment for complextrauma. With our approach, the power resides within theindividual, not the TCTSY facilitator (TCTSY-F).Further, by focusing on the felt sense of the body to informchoice-making, TCTSY allows participants to restore theirconnection of mind and body and cultivate a sense of agency thatis often compromised as a result of trauma.

New Gratitude Book
Can Help Rewire Your Brain to Create a Happier You!
The G.L.A.D.S. Method for Cultivating Gratitude is a new book by Dr. Malorie Schneider that could improve your mental, physical emotional, and relational health. Decades of research have demonstrated that gratitude has a positive effect on well-being, and this is due to the fact that when gratitude is expressed, the brain releases the “feel good” neurotransmitters, serotonin and dopamine. Expressing gratitude leads the brain to develop new, positive neural pathways, and repeated expression of gratitude strengthens these positive pathways.
The G.L.A.D.S. Method for Cultivating Gratitude contains 52-weekly readings for inspiration and reflection, a structured format for daily gratitude journaling, as well as an assessment method to track the positive impact of gratitude on one’s life. This book is designed to help you plant the seed of gratitude and cultivate it until you are not only feeling grateful, you are grateful.
The G.L.A.D.S. Method for Cultivating Gratitude is published by KDP
ISBN: 9798218333140

Welcome to February! Relational wellness is this month’s pillar of wellness. Of course, that only makes sense since February 14 is Valentine’s Day (put a reminder in your phone—that is next Wednesday).

There are two types of people when it comes to Valentine’s Day: Romantics and Cynicists (realists, as they prefer to be called). At the thought of Valentine’s Day, Romantics will conjure up images of chocolates, flowers, and intimate dinners. Cynicists will persist that the card, chocolate, and dining corporations have capitalized on this “made up” holiday. Whichever camp you belong to, please keep reading.

Are you in a relationship?

If you answered, “no,” you are wrong. We are all in various kinds of relationships—work relationships, family relationships, friend relationships, romantic relationships, but the most important relationship of all is the relationship you have with yourself. Robert Morley stated, “To fall in love with yourself is the first secret of happiness.” We can truly only love others to the extent that we accept and love ourselves.

Stop and consider how you talk to yourself. When you make a mistake, what do you say to yourself? When you do well, do you discount your accomplishment, or do you allow yourself to feel joy and pride? If you were in a relationship with someone who talked to you the way you talk to you, would you stay in that relationship?

Stop and consider how well you take care of yourself. Do you allow yourself time for leisure? Do you allot the appropriate amount of time for self-care? Do you protect your boundaries?

Your relationship with yourself is the most important human relationship in your life. If it is healthy, then other relationships will follow. This month, focus on falling in love with yourself. Engage in encouraging self-talk. Take some time to do something you have been putting off. Do something extraordinary just for you because you are, in fact, extraordinary!

With integrity you have nothing to fear,
since you have nothing to hide. With integrity you will do the right thing, so you will have no guilt. With fear and guilt removed you are free to be and do your best.

I don't know why this hasn't received more publicity, but this new fifty-foot sculpture was unveiled in South Dakota. It's called 'Dignity' & was done by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation. ❤
