The holiday hustle can be loud and overwhelming, so here is a guide to help you have a silent night! 💤
1.   Keep a regular sleep schedule: Go to bed and wake up at the same time each day (yes, even on weekends!). A consistent schedule helps your body know when it’s time to rest and when it’s time to wake up.
2.  Opt for lighter snacks and skip late-nigh caffeine: Too much caffeine can make it harder to fall asleep. Try to avoid caffeine late in the day so your body has a chance to wind down, and stay within the recommended caffeine limit (200mg).
3.  Make your sleep space cool, quiet and dark: Use earplugs, sleep masks, a fan/white noise, blackout shade if needed.
4.  No screens for one-hour before bed: Screens give off blue light that tells your brain “Stay awake!” Turn off screens at least one hour before bedtime. Use this time to relax instead.
5.  Try creating a wind-down routine: Listen to calming music, read a book, do light stretching, or journal before bed.

Winter break catch-ups can get complicated fast. If you’re reconnecting with people from home, one of the most helpful things you can do for yourself is stay informed. A quick check-in with a doctor or campus clinic can give you clarity, whether it’s about STI testing, contraception options, or just understanding what’s normal for your body. Staying aware is a form of self-care, and it makes every decision a little easier.

Preventing the cold & flu this holiday season doesn’t need to be a hassle! Just take these steps:
💉 Get your yearly flu vaccine. While vaccinations don’t always prevent disease, they reduce the risk of worse symptoms!
😷 Cover your nose and mouth. When you sneeze or cough, do so into your arm or a tissue. Wearing a face mask when you are sick is also a great way to prevent spreading germs!
🙂 Avoid close contact with those who are sick. Cleaning areas where germs have been is also important. 🤧
🛌🏾 Stay home when you are sick. Germs are not a good holiday present!
🧼 Clean your hands. Rub soap on your hands for at least 20 seconds. You can hum “Happy Birthday” twice to make sure you’ve got it.
👃🏼 Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. We touch a lot of surfaces every day, and many of these are covered in germs. Our eyes, noses, and mouths can be easy entry points for germs when we touch our faces!

Winter break can be a really isolating time, and AI might seem like an easy fix. But nothing replaces real connection. If you are relying on AI tools for support, balance that with at least one real-world check-in: text a friend, call a trusted person, or take a moment outside to catch your breath. You deserve support that actually supports you.
