If you have ever attempted to ready an elderly loved one for a move either to a skilled nursing facility, or an assisted or even an independent living community, you know how confusing it can be for you, but especially for the one moving. We have come to rely on outside facilitators for advice with these moves and are so happy to have ASSISTED TRANSITIONS with us for the Expo, whose business it is to do just as their name says! It sometimes takes the kindness, compassion, expertise and knowledge of an outside person to convince the elderly loved one that all is for the best in downsizing, moving to a safer location, de-cluttering, selling unnecessary items because the family can not deal with it emotionally. Welcome, ASSISTED TRANSITIONS.. and thank you for what you do!

Glad to have the AARP Driver Safety Program with us for the Expo -- kind of self-explanatory, but as we age and hate to admit, our skills at driving do tend to diminish and we need special advice on how to cope with our changing reflexes! The volunteers who will be helping us, through their various classes, will be on hand to let you know where to sign yourself, or a loved one or friend up for this refresher! Welcome AARP!!

We are happy to help the non-profit organization - Center for Independent Living Broward participate in our Expo. Their mission statement and Vision says it all!

Mission is to offer assistance to people with disabilities in fulfilling their goals of independence and self-sufficiency.

Vision to preserve the dignity and respect of people with disabilities through full access and inclusion into society.

One way they do this is by offering free state of the art adapted telephones to the hard of hearing Florida residents. There will be a number of these provided at the Expo... so be sure to see them if this is something you need for you or someone you are caring for! Welcome aboard CIL Broward!

We have a very interesting new vendor in our Expo... House Wall Garage Systems. What does this have to do with Eldercare, you may ask?

Well...some families want to take in their elderly parents, grandparents, etc. but feel they have no room, because that "spare" bedroom has become a catch all for things that have "no room" in the garage!

With House Wall Garage Systems, not only will space open up in the garage to store everything- but amazingly, applications in the home also, can clear a path to a comfy abode for our elderly relatives. Organizing is their forte and we welcome their innovative ideas to this venue!!

Their phones work like any other phone plus you see captions of everything the caller says on a clear, bright screen, that is even easy to read for those with some impaired vision as well.
