EMDR Therapy is a powerful tool that I incorporate into treatment to facilitate a focused approach toward your personal goals. It is known to heal trauma, but is a method that works for most issues presented for therapeutic intervention. I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Social Work. I had early training as a child and family therapist at North Shore Child & Family Guidance Center in Westbury, NY, and from there developed a private practice which has continued to grow and change through the years. Since 2001 I've been dedicated to honing my skills as an EMDR clinician and teacher. I am a Consultant, Facilitator and Long Island Regional Coordinator. What this means is that I work with EMDR trained therapists to deepen their skills; work at the basic trainings; and also plan informational meetings twice yearly for our local EMDR clinicians to network and experience special EMDR presentations. Although EMDR is my expertise, you will have a traditional talk therapy experience until you and I determine whether EMDR is appropriate for you. After that, EMDR is woven through your treatment to complement the talk therapy.
