Many of our patients have spent years being told everything looks normal, only to feel anything but.

They've seen multiple providers, had standard panels run, and been offered medications to manage symptoms that no one has fully investigated. What they hadn't had was a physician willing to look for the root cause.

That's where we start. If this resonates, we're welcoming new patients at our Boca Raton clinic and would be glad to meet you.

May is Arthritis Awareness Month. Here's a perspective that doesn't always come up in the standard conversation about arthritis treatment.

Reducing inflammation offers relief. But if we don't ask why it keeps returning, we stay in a management loop. At the Marcus Institute, we look at joint structure alongside gut health, inflammatory markers, nutritional status, and immune patterns, because that full picture is often what's missing.

For the right patients, we also incorporate PRP or prolotherapy to address the structural side of arthritis in ways conventional care alone typically doesn't.

If you're frustrated with where your arthritis treatment has left you, we'd welcome a conversation: fau.edu/marcusinstitute/request-appointment

Today is International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, and we want to talk about prolotherapy, one of the tools we use for complex, chronic pain cases.

Here's how it works: we inject a precise dextrose solution into weakened connective tissue. That triggers a controlled inflammatory response, which signals the body to mobilize growth factors and begin rebuilding collagen in the area.

The difference from a steroid injection is fundamental. Steroids suppress inflammation for short-term relief. Prolotherapy intentionally initiates it to drive long-term repair.

It's used for osteoarthritis, ligament and tendon injuries, chronic back and neck pain, fibromyalgia, and soft-tissue dysfunction—all delivered under ultrasound guidance.

PRP therapy starts with your own blood. We draw a small sample, spin it to concentrate the healing growth factors, and deliver it to the damaged tissue under ultrasound guidance.

That last part matters. Blind injections are far less reliable. We also customize the white blood cell content of every preparation—leukocyte-rich for tendinopathies, leukocyte-poor for joint environments where excess inflammation works against you.

We treat osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, rotator cuff injuries, plantar fasciitis, hair restoration, and skin rejuvenation, all with the same level of precision.

May is Women's Health Month. And if you've been told your labs are normal but you're still exhausted, gaining unexplained weight, or struggling with brain fog and mood swings, the full hormonal picture probably hasn't been evaluated.

At the Marcus Institute, we assess estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol, and thyroid markers together because these systems interact, and a disruption in one rarely stays contained. We also pay attention to timing, since details like cycle phase can change a diagnosis entirely.

Our newest blog covers which hormones matter most, what testing can reveal, and what a holistic plan for hormonal balance actually looks like.

We often hear that we need to exercise more, but for someone in chronic pain, that advice can feel overwhelming. We view movement as a clinical tool that must be tailored to your specific needs.

Whether it is through OMT to improve your alignment or specific stretches to support your joints, the goal is to make movement feel good again. When your body is aligned and your tissues are supported, exercise stops being a chore and starts being a source of energy.

We're here to help you find a rhythm that works for you. 🚶

The food you eat provides the actual raw materials your body uses to rebuild damaged tissues and create new cells. 🥗

While nutrition isn't a "cure" on its own, it's the foundation that makes every other treatment more effective. If you are trying to heal a joint or balance your hormones while eating a diet that promotes inflammation, you are essentially fighting against yourself.

Our integrative nutrition counseling helps you choose the foods that act as high-quality fuel for your specific recovery goals. We want to make sure your internal environment is ready for success.

When you' re looking for a doctor, you want someone who understands both the complex science of the body and the human experience of living in it. 🩺

Meet Dr. Branson Collins, our Director of Integrative Health at the Marcus Institute. Dr. Collins is a triple board-certified physician with expertise in anesthesiology, pain medicine, and anti-aging and regenerative medicine. This means he has the clinical precision of a spinal expert combined with a deep, functional understanding of how to optimize your health from the inside out.

His journey started at Rutgers and UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, where he eventually served as chief resident. He also proudly served our country as a veteran in the New Jersey Army National Guard before moving his family to Florida. Today, he uses his advanced fellowship training in metabolic and functional medicine to help patients who feel stuck in the traditional healthcare loop.

When he isn't in the clinic helping patients reclaim their vitality, you can find him practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a purple belt or spending time with his wife and two daughters. We're lucky to have his leadership and expertise at the Marcus Institute.

Weight loss is rarely as simple as "eat less and move more." 🍎

Your weight is actually a complex signal of your metabolic health, influenced by insulin levels, hormones, and even your gut health. If you feel like you are doing everything right but the scale won't budge, there is likely a biological reason behind it.

We work with you to optimize your metabolism and balance your internal signals. This approach isn't about a temporary diet; it is about making your body a more efficient engine for the long haul.

When you have lived under high stress for a long time, your nervous system can get stuck in a "fight or flight" loop. This makes it very hard for your body to focus on repair and recovery because it thinks it is constantly under threat.

We use a procedure called the Stellate Ganglion Block, or SGB, to help "reboot" that system. By calming the overactive nerves, we can provide a window of peace that allows your body to finally start the healing process. It's a precision tool for people who feel like they can never truly relax. 🌊

That sharp, shooting pain down your leg can make even the simplest movements feel impossible.

If you have been struggling with sciatica, you might be surprised to learn how acupuncture can help. By targeting specific points, we can help calm the irritated nerve and increase blood flow to the area to speed up healing.

It's a time-tested way to modulate pain signals in the nervous system without relying solely on medication. When we combine this with our integrative care, the results can be truly life-changing for your mobility. 📍
