Just a few short weeks ago, local speech therapy clinics learned that BCBS-TX is planning to 𝐜𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐂𝐨𝐝𝐞 𝟗𝟐𝟓𝟎𝟕 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟐% 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.

This code is used every day to provide children across the nation with critical, medically necessary speech therapy services. SLPs and parents have concerns about how this corporate decision could affect BCBS-TX families and their ability to access quality healthcare services.

As the largest insurance company in the state, BCBS-TX has the ability to relieve the fears of parents of children with special needs and the SLPs that serve them.

We urge Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas to stop the cut to 92507 so that speech therapists can continue to provide quality services to our kids and their families.

We are so excited to announce the offering of 2 new services - Cognitive Behavioral Coaching and Educational Consulting. We are incredibly lucky to have Margaret White Villa joining our team to offer these services. Margaret is a certified Cognitive Behavioral Coach and Licensed Specialist in School psychology (LSSP) with over 20 years of experience working with children from birth to 21 with a variety of unique skills and talents. In short - she's AMAZING and passionate about working with kids so they can SHINE!

Cognitive Behavioral Coaching is a powerful coaching model that draws on evidence based psychological models. This!!! 100% this! Love it ❤️❤️❤️

Jordyn and I went to the grocery store this afternoon. As we got close to the car, I opened the back to put the groceries in. I thought I had unlocked all the doors so I was loading the groceries in the back thinking Jordyn already got in. A minute late she walked back and said “mom, open the door, it’s locked.” I was shocked. First, that was a lot of language for her especially since it didn’t include food. She also had a problem and she used words to ask for help. That is not something Jordyn is usually able to do. Normally, if she had a problem like this she would have stood by the car door until I noticed and unlocked the door…which would have been when I finished putting the groceries in the car. (But to be fair to me this isn’t something I normally forget to do 😂) If you have a child that struggles with language please don’t give up. Jordyn’s has made so many gains with her speech and language over the last year…and she’s 21! She didn’t speak until she was over the age of 6. She has many difficulties with her speech but boy oh boy has she come along way. Always remember to celebrate all the gains…the big ones and the small ones. They are all important! Thank you all for always helping us celebrate Jordyn. ❤️

It looks like play because for most kids, that’s what it SHOULD look like!

For littles, this usually looks like playing with toys or people, but play can look so many different ways, especially as kids get older. And it’s also important to note that some kids are overwhelmed with play- especially when it lacks structure. It’s important to follow the child’s lead and interests and meet them where they are! ❤️
