Big news and a big heart behind it…

Collins Counseling is now The Rooted Counseling Co.

This shift comes from following my heart and stepping into a name that reflects the deeper purpose behind this work—offering grounded, compassionate care to clients and leading other professionals who feel called to do the same.

I’m so excited to share this next chapter with you. My heart has always been in serving clients—and over the years, it’s also grown to include supporting and mentoring other counselors as they grow into their own purpose-driven work.

We’ve added some incredible new faces to the team (can’t wait for you to meet them!) who bring so much warmth, skill, and dedication to children, teens, adults, families, and faith-based work. And don't worry I am not going anywhere. I am still counseling in my same cottage just with a new name :)

It’s a relaxed, come-as-you-are environment where we’ll tackle clients, boundaries, marketing, and all the nitty-gritty that really makes a difference.

Balancing work, kids, anxiety....you're not alone.

As a working mom, it feels like there’s never enough time to catch your breath. Between the deadlines and school pickups, anxiety can creep in and take control. But you don’t have to face it alone. Let’s talk about the tools that can help you manage anxiety so you can be present for yourself and your family.

🤍Mindful Breathing
Take a few deep breaths: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, exhale for 4 seconds.
Repeat 3-5 times.

🤍Gratitude Check-In
Take a moment to jot down 3 things you’re grateful for today.
Shifting focus to gratitude can lighten your mood.

🤍Limit Social Media
Take a brief break from social media. Notice how it affects your mood.
Reducing online exposure can help lower anxiety levels.

🤍Set a Timer for Mini-Breaks
Use a timer to remind yourself to take short breaks throughout the day.
Step away, breathe, or stretch for a minute or two

As moms, it’s so easy to fall into the perfectionist trap. We set incredibly high standards for ourselves—whether it’s making the perfect meal, keeping a spotless home, or being the ideal employee. But here’s the truth: perfection is an illusion, and chasing it can leave us feeling drained and overwhelmed.

When we constantly strive for perfection, we often forget to celebrate our wins, big or small. Instead of enjoying the journey of motherhood, we can get caught up in comparison and self-doubt, making us feel like we’re never good enough.

I totally get it—some mornings, the weight of everything can feel like too much. But here’s the thing: you have the power to shift that energy! Try these two simple steps right now:

Breathe It Out: Sit up, close your eyes, and take five deep breaths. Inhale through your nose, hold for a beat, and exhale through your mouth. Feel the tension melt away. This little ritual can set a peaceful tone for your day.

Set the Tone: Once you’re feeling a bit lighter, think of one intention for the day. Maybe it’s “I choose joy” or “I’ll ask for help when I need it.” Say it out loud or jot it down—this tiny shift can help you stay focused and centered.

Starting the day with intention helps set a positive tone, allowing us to navigate challenges with grace and clarity instead of getting swept away by overwhelm.

Let’s talk about that mental load we all carry. You know, the one that feels like it’s never-ending?

Dr. Morgan Cutlip suggests starting by writing down everything that’s on your mind—trust me, getting it all out helps! Then, simplify your to-do list and focus on what really matters because perfection? Totally overrated.

Remember, it’s okay to embrace a "good enough" mindset—you don’t have to do it all! Be gentle with yourself, just like you would be with a friend. And seriously, build your support system! Sharing the load with your support makes everything feel lighter. You’ve got this, and you’re definitely not alone!
