November is Diabetes Awareness Month, a time to learn more about how diabetes and heart health are closely connected. Our neighboring East Feliciana Parish has one of the highest rates of diabetes in Louisiana, which is a reminder that awareness and prevention matter right here at home. People with diabetes are more likely to develop heart disease, but small lifestyle changes can make a big difference. Let’s take this month to learn, share, and take steps toward a healthier Bogalusa together.

We’re proud to recognize Justice Crain, a longtime participant in the Bogalusa Heart Study, for his recent nomination to serve on the federal court bench in New Orleans.

Justice Crain has been a respected member of our community and an example of leadership and dedication. We’re honored to count him among the many individuals who have contributed to the success and longevity of the Bogalusa Heart Study.
