On Thursday, February 19, Adapt partnered with The Blue Store in Hammond, LA for the national Sticker Shock Campaign!

The Sticker Shock Campaign is a nationwide effort aimed at reminding our community that it is against the law to sell alcohol to minors. Bright warning stickers are placed near alcoholic beverage packaging to raise awareness and send a clear message: underage drinking is illegal and preventable.

We are grateful for the support and collaboration from Tangipahoa Parish and The Blue Store for standing with us to help protect our youth and keep our community safe.

Together, we can make a difference by educating the public, supporting responsible retailers, and preventing underage alcohol sales.

ADAPT recently delivered comprehensive hygiene kits to Varnado High School and Bogalusa High School as part of the ADAPT R.P.E. Prevention Program, directed by Ms. Dana Walker. This initiative supports student well-being by ensuring access to essential hygiene supplies and critical prevention education resources.

The hygiene kits is available through each school’s counseling and nursing departments to support students in need.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the administration, counselors, and staff at both schools, for their collaboration and dedication to empowering students. Both schools also actively participate in the R.P.E. programs—Healthy Relationships and CBIM—under Ms. Walker’s leadership.

For more information about the ADAPT R.P.E. Prevention Program or to learn how ADAPT can support your school or organization, please contact us. We are committed to making a positive impact in our community.

💜💛💚 Public Service Announcement

ADAPT is excited to share that we will be providing two Alcohol- and Tobacco-Free Zones during the Mardi Gras Parade tomorrow Saturday, February 14.

We invite families, youth, and community members to celebrate in a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment at either of our designated locations:

📍 Willis Avenue
📍 Avenue F

These zones are designed to create a positive space where everyone can enjoy the parade and fellowship—free from alcohol and to***co.

Let’s come together to celebrate responsibly and show our community’s commitment to health, safety, and family-friendly fun. We can’t wait to see you there!

💙🌟 Proud Moment for Washington Parish Youth! 🌟💙

We are incredibly proud to recognize Zion Jenkins and Brailyn Johnston, two outstanding students from the Washington Parish Youth Coalition, who represented the youth voice of Washington Parish at the Florida Parishes Human Services Authority Regional Area Council Meeting held today at the Tangipahoa Parish Government Building.

Zion and Brailyn confidently shared meaningful ideas and concerns with local and regional officials, focusing on important issues impacting students today — including youth mental health and substance abuse in schools. Their leadership, courage, and willingness to speak up for their peers truly reflects the power of youth advocacy.

Thank you, Zion and Brailyn, for being strong voices for change and helping shape a healthier future for Washington Parish!

⚠️ Did you know? Excessive alcohol use is one of the leading preventable causes of death in the U.S. Each year, about 178,000 lives are lost due to drinking too much. That’s more than 480 people every single day.
Behind each number is a person—a friend, a parent, a neighbor—whose life was cut short.
Let’s work together to raise awareness, support healthier choices, and protect our communities. 💙
If you or someone you know is struggling with alcohol, help is available. Don’t wait. Reach out.
