Nutrition labels can feel tricky, but once you know what to look for, they’re your best tool for making smart choices!

Here are 8 tips to help you decode labels with confidence:

1️⃣ Start with the serving size; all the numbers are based on this.
2️⃣ Check total calories, especially if you’ll eat more than one serving.
3️⃣ Look at protein, higher protein = more filling & satisfying.
4️⃣ Watch added sugars, aim for less where you can.
5️⃣ Mind sodium, choose lower-sodium options when possible.
6️⃣ Go for fiber, 3g or more per serving keeps you fuller & supports digestion.
7️⃣ Scan the ingredients list; fewer and recognizable ingredients are often better.
8️⃣ Check % Daily Value, 5% or less = low, 20% or more = high.
