Let’s just assume that us crazy carnivores are right, and seed oils are not good for you.

Seriously, you would never eat seeds in nature. Seeds are the most protected part of the plant, because they are the plants “babies.”

They are typically bitter, don’t taste good, and pass through our digestive system intact, as you will see them in your p**p.

Yet, now companies have made all sorts of oils out of them to cook with among other things, and even better, they claim they are good for us.

They aren’t. These companies are just making a profit out of something that was previously a waste product, and have marketed them as healthy so we would buy them.

These seed oils are in everything! Understand that whatever you put on your skin winds up in your blood stream.

A quick perusal of the products at Bed, Bath, and Beyond will demonstrate how many products contain them. Everything from shaving gel, moisturizers, chewable vitamins (candy, really), shampoo, and other assorted supplements.

These are causing all kinds of conditions that are perceived as a normal part of aging.

Avoiding these oils will help you live a longer and healthier life, in my opinion. (What do I know? 🤷‍♂️)

Interesting thing that I noticed. If you look at an elderly couple, you will often see that the man’s skin looks SIGNIFICANTLY healthier.

Why do you think that is? Especially when women put a lot more energy and money into how they’re skin looks.

Women use a ton more products (lotions, makeup, shampoos, conditioners, hair spray) containing all kinds of chemicals, but many if not most contain these seed oils.

Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m not.

After the age of 30 you are losing muscle bit by bit. It’s called sarcopenia.

That’s why your grandparents shrink in their later years.

So if you are not training to get stronger and build muscle, you are literally wasting away.

Add to that a low protein, grain heavy diet (most people), you are now physically weaker and more frail, carrying around more fat mass.

That IS NOT a way to live a life full of living.

Eat more protein, get stronger, improve your ability to move well.

THRIVE until you die.

Personal travel hack.

I primarily travel with a 60L backpack for all of my trips of a week or less.

That turns my 1.5 hour layover at Baltimore airport into a 1.5 hour ruck. Throw a podcast on, and work towards being a more functional human.

The other alternative is to sit in a sh*tty position using your phone, while you are waiting to sit in an even sh*ttier position (which I am now doing to make this post! 🤦‍♂️)

I also make it a point to fast whenever I travel, because all of the available food is absolute garbage. In fact, I haven’t eaten since Sunday night at around 7 pm.

So I’m feeding off of my stored energy (body fat) while I’m getting a good dose of a loaded human gait pattern, while listening to smart people say smart things, hoping I become smarter in the process. Jury is still out on if that’s working out or not. 😂

A few weeks left until the start of the September wave of The Amazing 12 Express!

The A12 Express truly is groundbreaking.

The results achieved in 3 days a week, 35 minutes of training time per day, and nutritional guidelines, never cease to amaze me.

It is it typical for the A12 graduates to leave significantly stronger, with more muscle and less body fat. Some would say that isn’t possible, but I watch it day in and day out coaching The Amazing 12.

When the math is right, your body has no choice but to adapt. It is a physiological certainty.

In the A12, we take care of the mathematics, you put in the work.

76 and crushing it!

This result is particularly special to me. Judi Maurus Phillips is my mother. She stepped so far out of her comfort zone on this, and she absolutely nailed it.

My mother has never really liked working out. So she had absolutely zero experience with the tools and exercises used in the A12 Express, which made her nervous. But I couldn’t be happier with her performance or her results!

As you can see, she lost body fat. But she also left this program moving better and was significantly stronger! By the end of this program she was Safety Bar squatting 55 lbs for 2 sets of 15 reps! Even more impressive, she was bench pressing the same weight for over 30 reps in 10 minutes!

“After hearing from my son for years how wonderful the Amazing 12 Program can be for health, fitness and strength, and after him assuring me that I could definitely succeed at it at 76 years old, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and give it a try.
Always battling 15 or 20 extra pounds, and at an age that needs strength to increase while life is trying to sneak it away, Amazing 12 presented a challenge that I felt would be nothing but beneficial.
My experience with A12 was surprisingly awakening, strengthening and satisfying. I was amazed at how much better my body felt as a result of some of the dietary changes and at the increasing amount of pounds that I was becoming able to move and lift. The feelings of accomplishment were amazing at times. At 76 I had accepted that declines in strength, movement and activities were normal and to be expected but A12 taught me that that didn’t have to be the case yet.

Another amazing result from The Amazing 12 Classic!

Robert Skidmore was the strongest candidate that I’ve had in The A12 so far, and he did not disappoint! Robert came into this program determined to get the absolute best result that he could. In fact, he decided to cut out alcohol for the entirety of the program (even though one cheat day is allowed!) which is quite impressive for a 23 year old college kid! 😂

Robert lost 20 lbs while building muscle, increasing his absolute strength, AND improving the function of his shoulders tremendously!

He came into this program with some impressive maxes. Before the start of the program, he had a max bench of 355 lbs. 2 weeks after the program he was benching his old max for multiple sets of 1-2 reps, AND he was 20 lbs lighter!

At the same time his chin-ups went from a max of 14 reps to performing over 65 reps with 25 lbs hanging from his waste in 15 minutes!

These are serious strength gains, AND in a highly trained individual. What many don’t realize, is that creating these kind of results in a trained individual is far harder than it is with an untrained individual.

Not to mention that all of this was happening while he was dropping body fat, building a pair of “boulder shoulders,” improving his cardiovascular fitness, AND improving the function of his shoulders.

That is a ton of result for 12 weeks of work!

WORK is a class programmed around the concept that we were designed to be STRONG and RESILIENT.

But strength and resilience don’t come easy. They certainly won’t come to us while we are sitting in a chair watching Netflix or playing video games.

They come as a result of engaging in good old fashioned hard work. Human work. The kind of work that we have been doing for thousands of years, until recently.

WORK will leave you feeling like you did exactly that, work. But, you will leave feeling stronger, more stable, and a with a better understanding of how to use your body to pick up, push, pull, and carry heavy things.

And again…. Zombies… you never know when being a mobile, strong, and resilient human might be important!

Classes are on Wednesday night at 5 pm and Saturday at 8:30 am.

It is refreshing to finally be able to train myself and my people the way that they should be trained.

The floor is such a valuable training tool, but most don’t understand it’s value.

Your relationship with the floor, and how well you can get down and back up again, says A LOT about your overall health and longevity.

First up from my last wave of The Amazing 12 Express!

Krystina came into this program without any significant lifting experience, but she came in ready to learn AND ready to work During the 12 weeks of the program, we put a lot of focus in listening to her body. She had been through lot over the last few years, and trying to smash her body into the ground is not the way to create a stronger system.

Let me tell you, though, this girl is a damn warrior. My job wasn’t to push her in any way… my job was to hold her back when I could see her system needed it. That’s why everyone needs a coach. Having objective eyes on your training is invaluable.

Even with a couple of lower energy weeks, by the end of this program Krystina was STRONG. Going from never having squatted before to squatting 145 lbs for 2 sets of 15 reps! And this was achieved in only 35 min of training time, 3 days per week!

Here is Krys Marie in her own words:

If I’m being honest, I can’t recall a time in my life where I DIDN’T struggle with body image. I can’t remember a time where I wasn’t fighting everything I saw in the mirror. But working with Tristan through the A12 was about so much more than that. After suffering 2 strokes, receiving a pacemaker, and fighting countless uphill battles medically - my body needed work (to say the least).
