POTS = dysautonomia.
Which means dysfunction in the autonomic nervous system.
What regulates the autonomic nervous system?
The brainstem.
This is why the missing link in so many POTS diagnoses is the upper neck—yet no one is evaluating that region.
If all your medical testing comes back “normal”…
You’ve seen a cardiologist, a neurologist, had CT scans, MRIs, and blood work…
…but no one can explain why you’re still suffering—
the upper neck is often the root cause.
Most POTS patients I’ve worked with have a history of:
• previous injuries
• concussions
• car accidents
• falls
• sports-related trauma
That whiplash-type injury caused a structural issue in the upper neck that was never corrected.
When the top bone of the neck shifts out of alignment, it can:
• lock the nervous system in “fight-or-flight”
• cause Vagus Nerve Dysfunction
• reduce blood flow into the brain
These changes can directly contribute to:
• heart palpitations
• gut issues
• dizziness
• headaches
• brain fog
• blurred vision
If you constantly feel pain, pressure, or tightness at the base of your skull that never seems to go away, that is a strong indicator your symptoms may be linked to the upper neck.
